Wife didn't kill me!
« on: September 17, 2010, 11:47:36 PM »
Well here they are, the way looked when I got there. Not too bad. The red '77 had a dent in the tank, other than that all sidecovers are there and good shape and all tanks look in good condition on the inside. Paint is not terriablr. The owner had said that they all ran but, they did say in was 4 years ago. Anyway I checked to make sure the engines all were free, and they are.  Had to pull everthing off them to get them on my trailer. No matter, all that crap was comming off anyway. They look better already. Now I got 4 sets of farings, lowers and saddle bags counting the set from my Tracy bike. Guess I'll fill somebody's dumpster.
What do you think, not bad for 200 bucks each?

So, how the best way to prep them for my first trial start? Take the tanks off and rinse them out. Do I need to pull the plugs and spray some peniteating oil on top of the pistons and let them a while before I put a hot battery in them and try and start?

Yea yea I know, the sidecovers on tha red and blue ones are upsidedown.

They'd be $1000 a pop in New Zealand....and I'd pay that too. ;)

Well done mate, you got a massive bargain and you didn't even have to kill your wife before she killed you! Let me know if you get bored with one of them, I've always wanted an auto! ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

There not dressers now.

I need headlight assemblies and ears and blinkers.

The two '77 to start right away. No power at all on the '76. Maybe a blown fuse??

Man, talking about falling into it and coming out smelling like a rose....

Jeez, I'd be a dead man--I can see asking for forgiveness rather than asking for permission, but it took some real cajones to come home with THREE!  You're my hero.

It's probably buggered mate, better play it safe and send it to me, don't worry about what Hushy's saying either, he didn't even mention that Russell Crowe's a sheep shagger too! ;D

The 76 has probably heard about Terry's offer and is refusing to start just in case you send it to Ozzie.

Isn't the stock headlight installed in the jammer? It seems that was the way on mine but it's been years since I owned one.

You should "pay it forward": sell one and give her the money.
Then next time you run across a deal, she won't kill you!
Think about it, it makes sense...

Ha ha, it's a translation thing I'm sure, but over here, the term "Giving her one" has very little to do with motorcycles...........  ;D

hahaha...had a friend at work, a real nice, mild mannered guy, stand up from his desk and announce.."been a slow day, I think I'm gonna go home and lay some pipe". Me and the other guy there busted up laughing, we had to explain it to him, then he said he was installing some irrigation around his house... ;D ;D
