Gas cap hinge pin
« on: September 30, 2010, 03:28:24 PM »
Where can I get a hinge pin for my gas cap? I'm having the tank painted and I had to drill it out to remove the cap.

Motogrid shows it as not available from Honda.

You didn't mention which bike, but here's a link to a thread mentioning a source (Hondaman, a member). I don't know if he still has them, but might be worth an inquiry.

You might look on David Silver Spares. I saw hinge pins for my bike there.

If you're in a hurry to get back on the road, just throw a cotter pin thru it until you get a permanent solution.

Yeah check with HondaMan. he uses Stainless screws and self locking cap nuts. Easy. No banging.

Probably not kosher if you're going for a 100 point restoration. Otherwise, good alternative.
