Joeb got pinned by a Mercedes on Oct 5th
« on: October 09, 2010, 02:34:39 PM »
Some of you old timers might remember my friend Joe(joeb on this forum). He was struck by a car that ran a light while on his way to work this week. The car hit him square in the side as he was making a protected turn, causing extensive damage to his foot and ankle and separating his shoulder.

I visited Joe in the hospital yesterday and he is in good spirits in spite of his injuries. However, he will not be able to return to work and will be giving up motorcycling for good. The older ya get the harder it is to bounce back from these injuries, and family obligations take priority over all else, so I fully support Joe on his decision.

Joe is taking a double hit by being disabled and unable to work, and having to give up a long time passion of his. If you can, please take a moment to send good thoughts and well wishes his way after you read this. Joe is a strong, hard-headed individual and is by no means "down for the count." But some good thoughts and prayers will certainly help see him through the weeks to come.

Thanks,

Sean C.

Go Easy JoeB

Sean, please pass this on,

Take heart that if your feet never feel the touch of the footpegs,
And your hand never again knows the twist of the throttle,
There will always be the sun in your eyes and wind in your face.
For your brothers will carry you out over the horizon and onto the endless highway.......

Blessings and health to you Joe,

Joeb,

Great news and welcome home to SOHC4 also. I'm sure both you and your insurance can't wait to get hold of his insurance company. Heal well and say hello to Sean for me.

Glad you're back Joe,

Here is hoping everything heals and you reconsider the non-riding lifestyle decision.

I had an uncle who gave up riding because of a bike accident when he was in his 20's

Some days I wish he would get back on as he was the one who inspired me to start riding in the first place

Wishing you well.
