From what I can gather, its the best tank sealer out there in that it doesn’t get funky after a few years like kreem and it wont kill you if you accidentally breath it in like Por15 and if you dent the tank, it wont chip off inside. Still making up my mind on which one to use but I have yet to hear anything bad about it. My biggest problem is that I live in a condo and don’t have space to just leave a kreemed tank to sit for a week out side and the whole dieing from fumes thing just don’t work for me so I cant keep it inside, red-kote looks like I can do it outside and let it sit and cure over night inside and pop the tank back on the next day.

Did I miss that?  I guess I just dont like the idea of covering up rust. Rather get it out fisrt, then coat.

I first heard of it a few years ago at a radiator repair shop. Its not that you don’t remove the rust first, you just don’t have to. Allot of online part stores carry it and a few sellers on eBay as well but for me, its the fact that I don’t have a garage to work in so if it cant be done on a Sunday afternoon, I cant do it (at least not the right way, I do consider myself a master of the Half-Ass Mechanic Methodology or H.A.M.M. for short).

Hmm, this gives me an idea for a T-shirt. This (with some appropriate image) on the front and my "I Hate Carbs" image on the back. It would pretty well establish my position in the world's scheme of things.  ;D

Hey Bob,
Isn't this a little overkill?
Don't you think "your position" is already VERY WELL KNOWN.

Only to you folks. I was thinking of something that would let the rest of the world in on my limitations.. though I seem to recall being referred to as half-assed a time or two in my past.  ;)

Its more of an honorary title, once you’ve used either super glue or duct tape to fix an engine part or used the line, “…well damn it, ill make it fit!", you have officially graduated and can call yourself a master of H.A.M.M.

Myself, I'm not a fast mechanic, either.
