78 CB750 aftermarket wire harness
« on: December 08, 2017, 11:56:21 AM »
Trying to figure out where to attach and lay thing out on the bike.  It's different from the OEM. Anyone have pics of a new aftermarket harness on the frame?

Thanks!

Here's the diagram from the manual.
(Available here: http://www.honda4fun.com/materiale-documentazione-tecnica/shop-manual )
This is for the earlier K models but should get you close.
What's different about the new harness?

When I lay mine by the OEM , they are not close in length and connection locations.

If your new harness was intended for the "F" bike, there may be a branch (wye) with some wires that were intended to junction in a small, triangular wiring housing at the front lower left frame, under the tank, in front of the engine. If it is for the "K" model, this will not be the case.

Ok, got it!  It's not a F bike so it should be correct.  The issue is that I got the bike without the harness on it so I do not have a reference to know where it should go onto the bike.  here is a pic of how I laid it out.

You have a lot more parts to add before you're ready for the wiring!
Add some more pieces and it will make more sense. :)

You're probably right, I will wait.  I thought it would be easier to wire with less on it but might be creating more frustrations than needed.
