VB looks like it's actually closer than Sims. Coke, I'd say you seem like you know a little more about planning this sort of thing than I do. I'll just go with whatever you figure out. I usually only coordinate canoe trips. ;D

Yeah.. if Goof has his bike ready and still wants to cart it to TX it would be about the same distance for us.. no prob.  but If he is not we would be glad to pick up the OK leg and take it to meet a TX rider..

I am speaking for Radam and Taxi here but I think from the convos they are ok with the Denison alternate option.

thanks Scottly

Well hell, let's canoe the Current in that case  :D I haven't done that since I was a real young guy in W. KY.

Don't rock the boat! ;) I grew up on the Ouachita River. Some of the best small mouth bass fishing! I loved taking the solo out to the little MO falls though. I like some white water too. Now if I can only find a way to carry a canoe on my F3...

I'm sorry to say that my bike is not ready. Let me know if there is any other way that I can help out and I would be glad to meet up with someone passing through and ride with them for a while.

Sorry to hear that Goofaroo.

Sounds like we need to get with the Southwest bunch and set up a connection at Denison

Radam and Taxiscooter, I have posted over on the Southwest thread that we wont be going to OKC and need to get a hand off point somewhere like the welcome center north of Denison.  That may change a bit if that is not acceptable to TX riders but there is just no sense in us going to OKC when we can carry IT down through OK and get it close to Dallas anyway.  I hope that seems acceptable to you guys.. if that doesn't seem right just head over there and tell them that Coke is crazy.   ;D

If, by chance, you do get your bike ready at the last minute, maybe you could head south-east and ride along with Coke, Radam, and Taxi towards TX. Even if it's only for a few miles, at least you could still participate.

Hopefully we won't have to go too close to Dallas. I'm already taking off work to do this. My boss isn't into motorcycles, so he just doesn't get it. If I have to I'll just turn back when need be, but I'll definitely try to stick it out the whole way.

I should have said the tx welcome center. It is abot 90 miles from Dallas. Is that acceptable?  How about Durante if we can get a tx rudder to meet us there or the big casino.

man in this economy I wouldn't take a risk on the job.  Are you going to get Monday off?  if not, maybe we should push further on Sunday, I can stay in a hotel (maybe share with Taxiscooter if he meets us) and you could head back that evening so you can make the monday morning work schedule.  What ever I can do to make this work for you man I bet Taxi would too.

I was kidding about my job. If I lose my job I can't afford school. I work for the U of A, and get a great discount on tuition. I've got that Monday off, I was more worried about Tuesday if we end up going far. I don't mind making a long trip in one day if I have to though. That's why I didn't plan on staying in OKC when we got there. I'll just head back after we meet whoever, wherever.

DOH... LOL  :D

I was planning to turn around and head home after the hand off too..

If I don't get the 350 running better, I may have to ride a Kawaski and wont be able to carry IT ... well maybe I can carry it around Van Buren or something after we get there.   But I am NOT giving up.. I will try to get it running better myself or if nothing else I will take it to my mechanic.. wife already said I could.. she knows this relay thing means a lot to me (and I bought her a pretty expensive chocolate diamond ring while we were on the cruise) ;)

That sounds good to me. I hope you get the 350 going. I won't make fun of you too much if your on a Kaw. ;) I wish I knew someone down your way that could help. I have a few friends up here that would look at it, but not promising anything. Not sure if it would be worth bringing it all the way?

My wife is being very understanding about this trip too. I've made it clear that I WILL be going, even if I had to sleep on the couch for a bit afterward. Ha ha! She would be coming along, but doesn't think she can handle that many miles.

I'm glad you're heading back after the hand off too. It'll help me keep from speeding too much. I have a problem when I ride alone with somewhere to be. :o

I gave up on trying to fix it my self and took the 350 to my mechanic.  he is going to test the compression on the #2 and if it is good then he is going to work on the carbs for me and new tires..

I just figured with the deadline looming and me having some out of town travel to do next week, that if I was going to ride her i needed to get some professional help.

I should know tomorrow if the cylinder is bad or if we progress.  if the cyl is bad I will just ride a Kaw and then take the 350 around the block when we get IT home so I can sign the log etc.

Mechanic said he didn't think the cylinder would be bad but it was possible.

So here we go.

Oh.. and BTW.. sorry everyone about any messing up that has been made with the relay ..

Taxi, could you meet up with Coke and Radam somewhere around the intersection of I-40 and hwy 69, then ride south with them towards the TX hand-off?

Proposed route from LR to Van Buren

If we wanted to make a change we could take a pic of Godzilla in Paris AR, if we jumped up to 22 instead of following 10 the whole way.  It might make a cool pic. :)

or even head out on 10 from LR then cross over the AR river at Morrilton and take 64 to London (take Pic) then over to Clarksville and cross back over river at Scranton head to Paris on 22 (take pic) then to Van Buren.  just depends on how much messing around we want to do Radam.

Prop #2 is a great run!  Good road, light traffic, great scenery, goes through the Talimena national forest.  About 200 miles.

I'm also down for #2. The LR to VB part doesn't really matter to me. It would be funny to get pics in Paris or London. How's the 350 coming along? Any word yet?

sounds like route 2 it is.. glad you all didn't pick route 1.. :) (didn't really figure you would)  ;D

mechanic said the cylinders are sound and so he is doing the carbs and ordered the tires.  he said should be done this week ..

I should be good to go.

Oh BTW Radam, Taxi has bought a 3 bike trailer and his wife is gonna tail us .. just in case .. :)

I didn't see that posted by him on here so thought I would add it Taxi.
