It's dropped a couple of cents around here over the last few days.  I heard on the news that our prices should drop a little due to the lack of demand in Japan right now.  I'm glad it's dropped some, but not for that reason.

Whats that $3.68 per gallon? I'm not familiar with the way gas is priced in the US.

You think thats bad unleaded in Ireland costs about €1.47 up to high of about €1.60 per litre. According to google there's 3.78 litre per US gallon so that would be on average €5.82 per gallon. Convert that to US dollars and that's about $8.12 per gallon. Now that's outragous!!

Correct me if I'm wrong on the litres to gallon conversion.

You have the liters per gallon correct. We just don't realize how good we have it here compared to some places.

Yes true, BUT in Europe the majoroty of vehicles are small, the roads are narrow can't really fit a 350 super duty (truck) and for the most part many people still need them in the states. There are a plethera of difference reasons but the one I most lead to is standard of living, I was used to gas prices being close to 2.00. Jump 2000 gas prices soar, they slowly creep down, and they go back up, like a correlation gas signal to me that there has to be something going on in the world added stress. Like I said though there is a million and one reasons why its different, to me those are big ones.

Just because the cars and roads are smaller here isn't really a good reason for us to be absolutely screwed on the prices of petrol. About 70% possibly more of the price of petrol is government tax here as well. To be honest all the price hikes in this country over the last ten years has been the government increasing tax. We've been paying over a €1 per litre for at least the last seven years.

No I agree with you, I was just pointing out why I was upset and made a brief comparison between the two.

Some governments subsidize petrol more than others.

"for the most part many people still need them in the states."

Yes but many DON'T need them and those that drive them are usually the first to complain about the 'high' cost of fuel in our country. We call them RED necks. Go figure.

Whenever I feel like our gas prices are getting high I just take a trip to Canada and fill up once or twice. That usually shuts me up. But at least I try and conserve when I drive. I know gas is not cheap or endless.

uh Vancouver's gas prices blow big time..we get taxed huge not as bad as Europe but dad the states shouldn't complain

1.30 for regular per L
1.60 for 91 per L

that's about 5.20 for regular per gallon

and the b.c  government is asking why we go to the states for are fuel...kind of obvious if you ask me

I think population should do something with it as well, supply and demand
