I have only been on this forum for ten minutes but being a Graphic Designer in Australia who runs his own business,I'm wondering if the design for the patches could have had a bit more thought. And could someone explain what has happened to the rear design of the bike?A circular patch,I think would have looked a lot better.Just a thought.

Well, that didn't take long :) where were you when we needed you!?!

The "design" of the patch was cobbled together from the graphics supplied to me by the husband/wife team who did the t-shirt design. I simply pulled away some of the original to make it more simple (on the suggestion of the embroiderer).

That's where the weirdness of the rear fender comes from. There was a tail from a Godzilla floating across that area. I made a feeble attempt to rectify the missing links, but made it look worse, so had to leave it as it was. I was barely able to pull off getting the Honda font in there....

I think the guys kept their critiques at bay, due to the fact that A) I'm built to record music, not digitally draw motorcycles, and B) they (like myself) just wanted something, anything really, to mark the occasion of this Relay.

In the wise words of our fearless leader Jerry, "there is plenty of time to plan for next year."

Personally, I will wear my INAUGURAL RELAY PATCH proudly, "flaws" and all. I wouldn't trade it for any "improved" patch. Remember, the banner has "flaws" as well. There is also the Zen thing about perfection. ;)

It will be great to have your expertise along for 2012! We have guys from all walks of life jumping in just like you have that have all combined to make this little project better. Glad you're with us.

Are you going to be ready to ride after September? Godzilla will be headed down under on it's next leg once we're done up here.
As of today 3/13/2012 my original owner 75 CB750F has made it through 3 wives, er EX-wives. Free at last.  ;-)

2011 Patch List UPDATE - make sure you're on it!
« Reply #90 on: April 06, 2011, 06:34:04 AM »
OK folks.  I just got confirmation that the patches have gone into production.  It was a bit tedious getting the quality up to where it is now (3 revisions!) from the embroiderer, but I think this is all settled now.  They should be shipped and to me sometime by April 18th-22nd.  I will then turn around and get them out to you all ASAP.  As soon as I have a tracking number from the manufacturer (estimated April 13th), I will send you all PayPal info so that payments can be made.

Please check the list below and make sure you are on it.
