« on: April 25, 2011, 08:41:41 PM »
Would xl125s rings fit on a std cb500 piston. Seem to have same ring oil build. ... thought maybe the racers might know....

They are cheaper here from honda by  $13 a set .... :P

im guessing so,i used xl125 pistons in my 500,so long as the ring groove is the same the rings will be fine, maybe cross reference the part numbers?

Used to use motogrid.com to cross reference...doesnt work anymore.

Also read that the xl125 is a 56.5mm vs 56nm unique to the 500 so maybe no

i used first over size xl125 aftermarket piston and ring sets,so the bore was done and honed to those pistons, the wrist pin(gudgeon pin)and deck hieght is the same,,i did however have the head combustion chambers relieved to clear the piston crowns and to also lower the static compression ratio, david silvers have a good "search by part numbers "web page, fiddle about in there and im sure youll find an answer.
