last winter i got a pamco ignition system. the coils wires and everything Finlay two weeks ago, my brother in law and i put the system on. first off, i got the instructions off the internet, because they do not send any. that saves money. they ask if you have a 3 or 4 wire system and give you wire colors. i spent 2 nights with a wiring schematic for my 350f trying to find that color of wire group. i emailed pamco Pete and told him i could not find that color group and said it would more than likely be something stupid to make me look dumb.-------- it was, the color grouping determinds what size bike the system is going on. duh. so we started. a problem we had was when it was time to put the advancer on the pamco hub. when you pull both advance arms out with spring tension on them, you are out of hands to put the hub in to make it a complete assy. but get a little help and hold your mouth just right and it will go in. after that it is pretty much straight forward and easy to do. one thing they say is when you go to fire the bike up for the first time, if it does not start up you have the wires to the coils switched. we did, so we changed the wires and the bike fired as soon as i hit the starter button. some things we did was rather the crimp the wires at the connections, we also soldered the wires. also at the ignition plate we drilled two small holes in the plate to zip tie the wires, they look real small. i have had trouble getting my bike to idle for the 6 years that i have had it. first it would idle fast and at the next corner it would die. now it just sits there and purrs at 1000 rpm and is happy. i have been riding for about two weeks now and all seems fine. time will tell but as of now i believe this is a great unit, at a good price. Pete was great with the information i needed, and its made here in the good old US of A!!!
