how do i hotwire my cb750?

No im not a thief!!!

I am trying to solve my electrical problem, and im pretty sure i have checked all the possible fuses/connections.  So I hope i have narrowed it down to my ignition switch, before i go and get a new one, i want to make sure.  So if i hotwire it, this will bypass the ignition switch, right?  Will doing this cause any possible harm?

Fuses on CB750s are fragile, especially the early units which had no back-up. It's safer to get a new ignition switch. They are not expensive.

well, before seeing your reply, we tried a jump, and found that the ignition switch was bad.  But we also created a new problem.  The starter will not stop running.  Whenever the battery is connected, the starter is constantly running.  Any ideas on this?

The ignition switch simply connects the battery to the Black wires on the bike.  A jumper works as well or better than the switch.

The starter button can be damaged.  Or, the starter solenoid could be stuck.

I you remove the Y/R wire from the solenoid and it still exhibits the same behavior, replace or overhaul your solenoid.  Otherwise, check your starter button.

You should include year and model in your problem description. CB750 applies to 11 or 12 years and models.  Many have different wiring nuances.

yeah sorry i forgot, its a 74, but I figured it out, Stuck solenoid.  THanks for the help
