i just got this bike on friday.the one in the backround is the same year but differnt model i think. dont have any pics of what looked like when i got it cuz i was too excited..i just started taking it apart..the original motor is locked up,but i have another motor.i bought it a while back with the title.its supposedly an 836 cc big bore motor.so i put that motor in it.just got it in today..my back is sore...

thers the other motor in the back round..i wasnt really taking a pic of it but you can still see it

here it is with the motor in the frame.its in.just not tightend down yet.

maybe somthing good inside here?i havnt opend it up yet.tomorrow....(i mean the timing cover)

ok so i opened it up..was hoping to find som kinda electronic ignition or somthing cool..nope,nothin

so open up the other motor and bam!!..all that stuff looks brand new!!

took it out and put it in the "good motor"

the good motor was missing the starter so i took this one out.

so know im a lil confused about how it goes back together..some shimms fell out.not sure exactly where they go.

also not sure about these contact points(not sure what its really called)i know these 2 wire just screw back down.

but where does this one go?does it matter?i mean it hooks up to one of the contact points correct?

it says 750 e also...but i think its a 71 and the black one is a 76...is it not a good idea to post up serial number on the internet?i have both the titles...

here what the wiring looks like..seems like a rat made his house inside...

i thought i was guna be able to use the wiring from this bike,but all the conectors are falling apart when i unhooked them..

You titles should have the frame numbers. The engine numbers won't match the frames.
I was really just wondering if that black motor was a later F motor and you answered that question.

Do you have the parts list? It has exploded diagrams of every sub-assembly. It might help you with the starter.
I've never taken one apart.

Not sure if after market ones are available. But yours might be salvageable with a little time and some new connectors. Check this page out.

also got the oil bag back in today..so i didnt get much done today.but im just trying to take my time..i dont know anything about these motors..

yeah that seems pretty cheap..it says 73 to 75 though..will it work for my bike?the motor is a 71 and frame a 76 so the wiring on my bike is a 76..but im not guna run all that crap that comes on the bike.like turn signals,horn,turn signal buzzer.stuff like that.(maybe turn signals if i get stopped.though i never have before.)

I have a K@ frame, K4 engine and several other model bits all going on the one bike, {lots of boxes of parts} and i am using a K2 harness, there are differences in some harnesses but its not too hard to work out. What model hand controls are you using..?
If you search google you will find plenty of places that have our wiring harnesses and they usually cover most if not all models. Maybe try Z1 enterprises. Also David silver spares {England}. I am sure that there are plenty of vendors stateside that can help you out....

well i dont like anything on the bars..in the past ive wired them up where everything turns on when the key is turned on..i had one of those magura speed grips on a bike before..i liked that.might try to find another one..i also wana runa a drum on the front..i like the look of a drum.and i like how the bars look with just a throttle assembly, brake lever,and clutch lever.

Do yourself a favour and run a kill switch, i recently read on here someone recommending to run nothing on the bars, not even a kill switch and i think that was poor advice, a kill switch is a life saving device and you'll never know until you need it.....

You may not need a Honda harness then, if you have some wiring skills then just wire it all up yourself...There's plenty of guys here to help you out....

i dont really have skills..ive just gotten lucky a few times...maybe if i get a diagram i could figure it out..if i cant figure it out i gotta buddy that can.hes an electronics engineer for bowing(not sure on the spelling but its that place that build airplanes)..

yeah i know..i downloaded it yeaterday..i havnt really looked at it yet though...

no.not a rat bike.im just trying to get it running for now.then,once everything is dialed in(hopfully i get to that point)im planing on taking it all apart next winter and sand blasting/powdercoating everything...

but thats a long time from now...

got the starter back in today

and got these wires hooked up from the stator(i think thats what its called)...i think i hooked it up correct but im not sure where this wire goes.its blue with a red stripe.

also not sure where this goes..but ill figure it out i guess..ive been trying to read that manual a bit before i sleep..i dont really like it though..i need to get one on paper

(i know this stuff is boring...the cool stuff wont be for another few weeks)

Blue with a red stripe is for the oil pressure switch. Yeah, maybe the diagram would help you out.

the wire comming off it goes through the starter area and plugs into the blue with red stripe?
