76 cb550k petcock question (searched and searched...)
« on: June 28, 2011, 09:58:07 AM »
So I need a new petcock. The old one's threads are quite messed up, and it is leaky from everywhere ha. I have looked all around for a replacement, either NOS or a universal replacement. I know I need one that is 3/4" and I would prefer to find one with dual outlets, but having to run a T isn't a deal breaker. What is a deal breaker is it running 100 bucks. Like this one...  http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Honda-CB-550K-550F-550-F-K-CB550-NOS-petcock-1975-76-/300571797728?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item45fb79a8e0#ht_500wt_960

I have searched all through the forums, and checked DSS and honda parts direct, as well as many other suppliers (dime city, and pingel)

Any help on this? Thanks so much everyone!

So I may have to go with a one outlet petcock, thats OK. But on Dime city they have this
http://www.dimecitycycles.com/vintage-cafe-racer-bobber-brat-chopper-custom-motorcycle-carburetor-fuel-tank-parts-honda-cb750-fuel-petcock-16950-393-015.html

anyone know if the M16 metric will fit the cb550k tank? I heard it was 3/4" which would be .6299 not .75 inches

Edit: forgot link

When you install don't skip the teflon tape like I did.  What a mess.

u just need 2 outlets for your carbs

That can't be right, my tank bung is round not oval...

If you check the links I posted I think the shape is pretty clear, just need the kind where the whole body screws onto the threads coming off the tank. :) Thanks

Hmm seems like it may work. But there aren't any adaptor nuts for a 3/4 in bung...

Ok, there seems to be no petcock (new anyways) in the world that is 19mm aka 3/4in and no adaprtor nuts that will adapt it to that size either. I guess ill get an in line one? or maybe just ride with a clamp and squeeze shut the hose when done riding lol. Ugh
