Topic: gear oil or spray on chain lube? 1977 cb750 hondamatic.

Ok guys owners manual calls for 80-90 gear oil on chain. Any body here use the spay on lube? IE champion,honda,walmart even carrys a brand. Whatcha think will it work?

Oh I'm just sure no one will have an opinion about this!   

I'll get the party started by stating that either is fine when applied in the proscribed manner at the proper intervals.

I prefer chain wax, less fling off. I hate cleaning wheels.

For an O ring chain you can use chain wax or something else to inhibit rust. The lube is held in the rollers by the O rings. For a standard chain a chain lube may be better since most have less fling off. Yes cleaning wheels sucks.
