gear oil or spray on chain lube? 1977 cb750 hondamatic.

Ok guys owners manual calls for 80-90 gear oil on chain. Any body here use the spay on lube? IE champion,honda,walmart even carrys a brand. Whatcha think will it work? :-\

Oh I'm just sure no one will have an opinion about this!   ::)

I'll get the party started by stating that either is fine when applied in the proscribed manner at the proper intervals.  ;)

I prefer chain wax, less fling off. I hate cleaning wheels.

For an O ring chain you can use chain wax or something else to inhibit rust. The lube is held in the rollers by the O rings. For a standard chain a chain lube may be better since most have less fling off. Yes cleaning wheels sucks.
