Day 1.5 Tuesday 7/26
« on: July 25, 2011, 08:24:57 am »
OK, so I am pretty much ready to go. Trying to tie up loose ends at work.

Pack tonight. Tomorrow adjust and lube the chain, air up the tires, reinstall the windscreen, load my stuff on the bike and I am off.

I will take Lake Shore Drive south to Rt 12, then just follow the lake shore north (taking my time and anjoying the ride) then head east across the Red Arrow Highway to KZ.

I should be in KZ late afternoon. Still going back and forth about where I will stay. The Knight Inn near downtown is kind of a dump, but it is very cheap and reasonably clean and I have stayed there before. There is something to be said for taking advantage of a bed when you can.

Perhaps I can meet up with the local contingent at the Bells brewpub at the old brewery site?

No problem, I stopped and had a couple on behalf of you all before Eric came to get me.
