CB550 Front End Rebuild
« on: August 19, 2011, 03:44:28 PM »
Hi,

I just got the front end off of my 1976 CB550 in order to remove the headlight ears. Now that it is off, and I will not be able to get it on the road this year anyway, I thought "why not rebuild the front end". I have found a couple useful threads, but not exactly what I am looking for. I need some photos!! lol

Does anyone have photos, links, videos, diagrams, etc of what is needed when rebuilding the front end?

just point me in the right direction....

Nice vid. Between that and a FSM (or at least an exploded diagram of all the different parts) you can't really go wrong.

i was hoping for some pictures or step by step instructions, but that was 10 times bette!!!! thanks

okay, one more question. What fork seals should I buy, in terms of brands? Is there one that is better than the rest, does price make much of a difference?

I will be sure to post photos once I get on this during the weekend and next week.

thanks

Josh, your only decent fork choice for the CB550 is Forking by Frank. Talk to Mary, Frank's widow. 847-475-1003. RR

I was put on Earth to accomplish a certain number of things. Now I'm so far behind, I'll never die!
