I like the wing decal and the super sport decal on the tank....the 550 decal is a little over powering there in my opinion.

Oh, and judging by your signature you just watched Drive...good quote!

Yes, I agree that the example in post #112 is best.

I didn't suggest sheet metal to mount the seat, quarter inch flat aluminum. There is room above your inner fender.

Tews,

Which seat did you get from DCC? Did it come upholstered or did you have it done? How did you mount it up? Can you post some pics with it off and on the bike? Curious, as I am at this stage now with my '75 CB550K. I apreciate the assist.

Sniper I bought the thruxton seat from DCC. It fit pretty well but will need to mount it using aluminum brackets. I went to Ace today as was suggested in a post i did yesterday. They didn't have anything I needed so it's not mounted yet. Tomorrow I will be dropping it off for sure to my buds as I was at wrestling practice a lil late. I will take some pics in a bit and post.

Thanks Tews, I appreciate it. Finding a decent looking seat for the 550 has been driving me crazy for a couple of months now. Did the seat come upholstered from DCC?

Here it is sniper. I purchased the pad as well. It's a rubber cushion that looks upholstered.

I am waiting for the parts to come back from clear coat.... Plus this is the end of the wrestling season and the youngest competes tomorrow at State. Already made it to top 16 in Wisconsin now its time to see if he can compete to be the best.

From the looks of it, most likely not. I have been trying to get my 750 running and struggling with that. Plus I am waiting for my buddy to hopefully clear coat it over the decals but he informed me two days ago he is extremely busy and backed up. No idea how long before I get it going.  I need to order some new coils for it as well. I sold the original coils to a member here who needed them.

Oh yeah, almost forgot, I ordered HondaMans fuse box for this bike as well this morning. HondaMan said he will mail it out Friday.

The whole idea of having two bikes is that at least one is a rider! Should've kept that third one! HA!

My K5 is going that similar route, slow go.

This week I picked up my seat, side covers and tank from my buddies autobody shop. They didn't get clear coated due to him being the only painter in the shop and extremely busy. I felt bad to pick them up but I need to get the bike together to take my road test May 14th. He said I can drop off once I am done with the test.... I decided to go with a new paint scheme for the entire bike. Looking at a dark blue and the knee dents will be the same color.

I did find some new Dyna coils though for my build today at Walnecks swap meet. Lots of junk there but couldn't pass them up when I got the guy down to 65 bucks....

I installed my new dyna coils and wires.. I had a difficult time trying to resolve the no spark issue. But I found the yellow slid and blue solid wire tucked under the airbox not plugged in today after work. Once I got them connected I had the wife make a quick video of the bike running. I need to make sure everything is all squared away before I take her for a run. That plus get the seat mounted. Later next month after my road test she is getting a new paint job. I decided to go with a different color.
