Speedometer squeal...?
« on: September 12, 2011, 08:54:14 AM »
Hi guys, My K3 speedo has a high pitch intermittent squeal that emits from it after 20 to 25 miles of riding. I know I am going to have to take it apart. But, what should I look for when I'm in there?

That is a brass bushing inside and it wears slightly emitting the squeel.  I have had it go away with riding.  It can be disassembled, lightly lubed, and reassembled.  Go to the home page and use the search function in the upper right hand corner of the screen.  A few threads on this in the past.

I was probably part of one of those threads.  I had the most awful squeal, and on the advice of TT, ended up just leaving it out until the winter was over, and it went away.

Good luck.
