Hi all...
This '78 Honda Hawk (CB400t II) is my first bike and I am learning as I go...
I've had the bike for about 6 months...sorted out a few issues and it's been running well ever since...until the other day the electrical system "died"...
A few weeks ago, I let the bike sit for 3 weeks....when I came back from my trip, I was pleased to see that it started up right away with the electric ignition...however, over the following 2-3 weeks, the battery seemed to lose its charge as I often had to kick-start the bike...
Then, after riding somewhere, when I wanted to come home a few hours later, the bike showed no sign of life when I turned on the ignition (no oil/neutral indicators , no starter turnover). It kick-started and ran fine, but all lights were dead.
As the battery had been weakening, I assumed it had just failed...so I took it to a local shop where they charged it overnight for me and tested it, saying that it was well-charged...I hooked up the battery, and ......nothing. Replacing the main 15A fuse did not help (all 3 fuses appear to be intact). I haven't dived into the headlight bucket yet but I have looked for obvious loose/damaged wires on both sides of the bike...general condition of the wiring is in decent...
Any idea what may be causing this? Thanks in advance...
