Oops, sorry!  I had not even started replacing it yet; just was looking at the cable thinking the hole had to be THAT size!  Wow, I feel stupid....duh! :o

No problem. Once you pull the cable you'll see the tang of the driveshaft that engages the inner cable.  It will become obvious.

Well, I got the seal changed.....what was in there looked nothing like the new one...new one is the correct one.  One thing I did not think about; does the flat side of the oil seal go in first or the concave?  Being as I did not have an example I put the flat side in first.  Hope that is correct.

It might work, lets hope. But the open side goes in first. Rule of thumb: the open side, the side with the spring visible, (not all seals have a spring, I think that one does) , the non-flat side, goes towards the oil.
