Anybody have a source for STD rings for a 78 cb750K??
Everywhere I check they are out of stock.
Found the good carb kits here.

go to a good piston/ring supplier you never know what they can come up with. my 79 XL250S has a 3rd oversize slipper piston, a limited run from years ago, local firm found a match with a suzuki cars rings.

Thanks I know two guys who build automotive racing engines. Never even crossed my mind to check with them. I know TRW makes a set.....MAYBE

Speaking of rings...do rings vary greatly in quality? Are they better brand or brands to watch out for?

I was having the same issue. I ordered some off of e-bay.... some no namers and they didn't fit properly. I like to stick with OEM as much as possible, here's a site that I have come across and I've sourced out a pile of OEM parts including the rings.

in my mind $33 isn't bad for an OEM set. Good luck and hopefully this helps.

If the 78 K uses the thinner F2/F3 rings then contact member wohali. The reason they may be "out of stock" is they may have been discontinued by Honda.

But why are there 4 options?



Is that just for each piston and they are all the same?

The way i read that is simply they have all been replaced by  -004 and that's what you'll get if you try to order the others.

The way honda part numbers work: 13011=ring set; 374 = bike model;  004 =modification

If you think you need 374, and they are listing 392, I'd have to be sure they are interchangeable. In other words 392 is not the same motorcycle as 374.
According to this (scroll down to product code link and open it) 374=CB550; 392 = CB750F/76

You're probably OK with the 392s for the 78K. But you mentioned 374 which threw me.

Yes i see in the codebook, 78K is 405, which your post shows has been replaced by the 392s. So you're OK.
