whats one of your F word days
« on: October 01, 2011, 06:31:06 PM »
well past couple days. Putting a new cb550 together got all my new parts clamped up the rings putting the jug on an snapped a ring, back to waiting for parts, Today is even better went for a ride on one of my other 550 an after a couple miles I noticed the recowl was making some noise (dunstall from roc city) pulled over an the backing plates welded to the seat pan welds  were broken brought it home started fiberglassing the inside an decided to make a plate  for each side an was gonna rivot it to the cowl, lookign in the garage for the rivot gun a can of spray paint fell off at  the exact right angle on to a old exshaust tip an the can exploded a nice tan paint, Yeah 4 other 550 are in the garage an paint went EVERYWHERE. 6hrs later an a jug of paint thinner most all the paint came  off except those small parts in the fins little in the rocker cover,  carb bodies good stuff... paul

Today. Haven't really had a chance to get the bike really apart to take a look, and I'm getting around to it today. Tank is off, going to adjust valves, notice the 4 and 2 sparkplug leads are both marked 2 by the PO. So, I'm checking spark and timing, and I'm 4 isn't sparking at all right now. I could have sworn it was firing before so what the F. So basically the PO that I thought was pretty decent, cause he fixed it up? Nope. Just another tarded PO.

I've had the paint can exploding experience, not fun. I'm left wondering if engine enamel would make a good garage floor paint because it is still holding up well after a few years. Sorry to hear it got on  your bikes too.
No matter how many times you paint over a shadow, it's still there.

My F word day was the 29th of last month, every day since then has been an F word day. Earlier today I ventured into my shop where I once had multiple running 550's parked . I moved them downtown the week before Irene so that I would have space to build 4 500's at once, the frames were ready for engines and 4 of them are still up on the bench in different stages of disassemble , Irene drowned the 550's which are now standing in a silent line in my shop. Each evening I end up sitting in the shop just starring ,haven't been able to pick up a wrench just stare , turn off the lights and mumble a stream of "F" words as the door closes. Things ought to begetting "f"in better soon."F"!   Sorry about the rant and I am glad that you could repair your "F"word day, I'm gonna move my spraypaint cans to a safer location so that at leased that "S" won't happen here.

400 miles after a rebuild on my 550 I pulled the oil pan to replace the leaky gasket (should have been replaced during rebuild but I forgot to order it.) Found lots of "non-hardening" gasket maker and some bits of metal in the pan.  F that #$%*.  Bike runs mint, ran it another 300 miles.  Bought a 2004 SV650s and haven't run the 550 since.  ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::)

I had an F bomb night last night.  Loaded up Halo Wars on the 360 and was almost finished.  Just about 5 more minutes and I would have won it.  The wife came up and wanted to watch a move we rented on Blu Ray, so I said ok.  Since there is not a save for a Skirmish, I manipulated the devices so the 360 stayed on but paused.  She could not get the volume to work on the Harmony remote so she hit Help, I think.  It reset everything and shut the 360 off, bye bye game, then F bomb!
I don't have a motorcycle, sold it ('85 Yamaha Venture Royale).  Haven't had a CB750 for over 40 years.

Funny you should mention it. I refer to my 550F as the "F-Bomb". The "woohoo!" to "gahhhh!" ratio is way off on my bike. lol

Replacing the cam chain on a CB550 using the old "bent coat hanger" to hold the old chain to the new, the theory being that I could just thread it through like that. The reality was the F'in coat hanger link falling down into the engine!  :'(

the past 24hrs for sure.
we been on a high since we got an offer on our house last sunday. its been on the market for 5 mos.
found out yesterday they withdrew their offer using the "neighborhood review' clause as an out, claiming there are too many kid-touchers and shootings in our area.  cluster f-bomb.
Total BS.  the only shootings here are during hunting season, and the only place you can live anymore and NOT have a sexoffender nearby is in the 1mi dmz radius around a school.  STILL, they are "in the area"
F y o u.
then...i threw out my back yesterday. spent most of the evening on the floor.  cluster f-bomb.
wifey went to the med cabinet to get me an oxy so i would be mobile enough to get to bed and sleep.
someone, and we suspect either a Realtor, or a client, jacked a 30ct bottle of oxycodones.
Fbombs....

I can't compete with some of your bad days, but my bike causes two common ones.

1. That stupid carb vacuum screw on Carb #3. Every time I either take it out or try to put it back in it will fall between the carbs and the only way to find it and get it out is to take the tank back off. Magnets won't stick to it....F!!! >:(
2. Bar end mirrors - They're out to kill me. I always manage to hit my head on them. Worst was when I was helicoiling my #1 cylinder and the drill jammed which in turn spun out of my hand and hit me in the chin. I jumped up and knocked myself out on the mirror. That was just F'ing embarrassing.

Put a small dab of gasket sealer or grease on the end of the screwdriver before putting it into the slot of the screw.  Keeps it stuck to the screwdriver but pulls off easily when done.

Last April, I had a caliper bolt back out and snap a few spokes.  Ripped one thru the rim even.

FORK!!

The spokes needed replaced anyway, but DAMN!  that was a good rim!
