As I have two bikes in this years BOTY (shouldn't I get 2 votes TipperT? ;) :) ), some photos of the April BOTM, the 400SS.  Certainly a bike that should appeal to the 'keep them original' forum members.  While starting to show some wear after 35 years, it is a survivor.  (note: the seat wasn't latched ::) )

Thanks for the pics Tintop!  Both are beautiful bikes!  That stock 400 brings back memories, especially the pic of the gauges.
I don't have a motorcycle, sold it ('85 Yamaha Venture Royale).  Haven't had a CB750 for over 40 years.

These are all great motorcycles, I enjoy the browsing.  Here's a few more of what's turned into a lot of fun for me.

Excellent pics Brent, I love the "Race Replica's", but it's good to see a real race bike here as well. Good Luck! ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

No new photos since winter has set in here in Alberta, but I thought I'd repost some of my favourites since the one at the beginning of the thread shows a flat rear tire (not my favourite!)

So, just to remind everyone, the story of me and this bike goes back a number of years:

Here I am with my Dad on the bike around 1981-82.  Dad bought the bike used in '78 after foolishly straying from Honda's on his previous motorcycle (an ill-fated BSA).  He bought it with the Vetter and backrest already installed and proceeded to put 1000's of miles on it with Mom on the back over the ensuing years.  He eventually replaced it with a GL1100 and sold the 'F' to his brother.  My uncle sold it to a cousin and years later, I had to foresight to purchase the old girl.

After a restoration that lasted 3 too many years, here are some of my favourite shots from this summer:

And I have to mention how awesome it was to be Rider # 231 for the SOHC4 Rally Across America, Canada and Beyond covering over 1400 miles and getting to hand-off to ofreen.

It's cool that it bounced around the family and ended up back with you.

Nice job on the restoration kap, it's a very sharp motorcycle.

Good and slow at the same time.  We have not reached the amount of votes that we got back in 2008 yet.  A surprising amount of people voted just on the line up pics.  I am beginning to wonder if some of the entrants even know that it is BOTY.

I woulda though this thread to go crazy this year but it has been the exact opposite to what I figured it would be.

I have not voted yet.

Although I may look to be in the "voted just on the line up pics" all were looked over in the botm treads. I'd guess some don't even know they are up for boty do they get emailed or anything?

and not mentioning any names all the builds were great stuff and i just couldn't decide based on just that everything was just so well done!

Well I have truly been agonizing all month over my vote.  Nov turbo is awesome, love the stockers in Jan, Apr, Aug & Sept, incredible flat out race bikes May & Oct, & don't forget the lovely cafe's Feb, Mar, June & July.  The efforts & time put into these machines is mind boggling, congratulations to all.

I had the pleasure of riding a short while with Tintop on his 400 (a very sweet machine) this summer up to Mosport.  Maybe next year he can quieten up the Swarbricks on the 550 without scaring all the livestock into a stampede & I can drool over it in person. Couldn't believe he didn't win the concours judging with the 400 (see pic) , but I am biased towards the SOHC4s  ;D  We also saw Bwaller race, he was just a blur, but the sound is sooo intoxicating.  This certainly didn't make voting any easier, let me tell ya!  But deed is done!

I don't know if they have been told that they are in the BOTY.

There is a video of the pipes in the build thread TipperT (from this spring).  However, I'm moving tomorrow, and this computer could go off line anytime. LOL  I'll see if I can find it (posted on Youtube, I think), once I'm back online. - tintop
