Yes Bill that's a genuine Bill Thomas Cheetah. (not mine) but that's what got me in the Dream car thread in the first place. If I ever win the lotto, that's first on the list followed closely by a Jaguar XJ-13, as in my initial post to the thread (see post for pix). Probably have to settle for a replicar.

Back to the thread...
My dream car would be an AMX, 390ci
but with fuel injection to eliminate the left cornering problems, or was it right turns wehre
the carb would stave under high acceleration?

michel, I've seen some AMXs that were pretty good runners and I thought they were pretty tough looking too. Did you ever see the prototype that was built in Europe and was mid engine? I thought the Pantera was pretty tough looking but, the AMX prototype was some beautiful automobile.

I don't recall if anyone called the Dodge "Little Red Truck Express" 360/twin stacks/ram air intake/small custom steering wheel/3.55 gears. Road tested against everything powerful of the cars & trucks in 2 different magazines and it was:  The fastest, the quickest, got the best gas mileage, had the smallest motor and was the cheapest to buy. Keep in mind that this was a limited production (on the 1st year of it) If I remember right, it listed for about $7,000 in 77' (I think it was built 77' & 78') 1st year had 2 round headlights and the 2nd year had 4 stacked rectangular ones.

Hey Bill,
Are they going to actually produce that new Challenger or is that just a concept car? I'd have to put that, and the original, on my list.

Hey Rushoid,

Isn't the F-22 Vstol or even Vtol? I though I read somewhere something about it but I hadn't checked up on it.

Jeff

Jeff, I missed this earlier. Sorry.
The "Raptor" (I hate that name) doesn't have VTOL capabilities, but with it's "thrust vectoring nozzles" it's extremely maneuverable. Probably doesn't need much runway to get airborne. I saw a video a year ago or so showing those nozzles in action. Basically they tilt up & down to change pitch quickly. I'll have to see if I can find that again.

Take care,
Lee

Oh yeah, from what I hear, they are going to bring the new Challenger out pretty much as is.
You know, I was glad to see the Charger come out but, I was kinda disappointed when I saw the car was a 4dr. I mean, A 4DR CHARGER!!!!! Come on. It may be a pretty decent handler and it may run pretty good but, it's a 4 DOOR! Sure will be glad to see this car come out. Maybe it'll inspire them to build a 2 dr Charger. I don't know why I'm so concerned, I won't be able to afford either one. Because of my job and my family requirements, I'm kinda stuck in the Van/ Minivan mode w/ an occasional Honda to keep things interesting. I'd better go for now or duster will come down on me. You see, he kinda helps keep me in line.    Bill

Rushoid,

I got a glance at a copy of the popular mechanics article from when it was in competition with the other airframe for the contract. The other plane had the VTOL capabilities but was lousy for manuevering, Thats why they went with the current F-22, The only name I'll call it ;D, and the data I saw says the current aitframe has an excellent VSTOL capability.

That would be a trip. Wonder what it's like to have a car that the headlight, in the middle of the front end, turns as you turn the steering wheel? If all 3 turned, it'd be kinda like being on a bike.

Think about it.
Tucker had the "headlight move with the steering wheel" thing back in the day, and now the
"HIGH-END" cars act like they were the ones who invented it...
