To all the volunteers
« on: November 19, 2011, 09:06:31 PM »
Free at last - free at last.....hey wait a minute. After 33 years I have resigned from the local volunteer fire dept. and tonight was our annual party. I just got home and it hit me, this feels strange.

We may be rural but there aren't many completely volunteer departments left. I'm proud of our gang of firefighters & First Responders.

So to all the people who volunteer in their communities...good on ya!

Good onya Brent.

You guys do a great service for the local communities.
We have volunteers here who also do a great job in the Dry Season when the fuel loads are high.

Gotta take your hat off to ém.  :)

If I was you
I'd be worried about me.

I have a 209 acre property on the central Queensland coast, my family lived there for around 8 years, it was essential to be a member of the volunteer fire brigade because i had good knowledge of the surrounding terrain. Fought a couple of really big fires but was also able to help stop a couple in their tracks due to intimate local knowledge, scary sometimes but also very rewarding....  Well done Brent...
