Cell phone, pocket knife, car keys with a bottle opener that can be used for random things, and some foil under the seat in case fuses blow.
Oh and a pack of Marlboro Reds with a lighter  ;)

I should also add my cell phone and a decent first aid kit - lovingly stolen piece by piece from my ER.

Here is a question: where do you carry your tools? I have practically zero space under the seat. I could squeeze something between the battery and the oil tank but the space is very limited.  Was there an official storage space on 750Ks?

Yes, just large enough for the original tool kit.

There's just about enough space for ~$400 in small bills to pay for the tow... ;D

I just bought one of these little shoulder bags to keep my tools in. I usually always have my backpack with me anyways, so there's always a place for tools.

That little metal tray between the battery and the right frame rail is where the tool kit lives.  You would honestly be amazed at how many roadside-essential tools are designed into so few pieces.

i used to have one of those cheap plastic inline glass fuse holders, the contacts worked their way back and recessed into the plastic and the bike stopped, all i needed was some tin foil to jam into the thing and get it home,i walked up and down the back road i was on hoping to find a cigarette pack or beer can to no avail,,i ended up just breaking the housing and twisting the wires to get home,,,australia is a clean country,, mcguyver would be #$%*ed here!
Totally wrong Dave!!!!!!............McGuyver could go anywhere in the universe and fix any problem you could whip up with wutever was handy!!!!!!.....Ausi isn't even exempt from that!!!!!

I forgot to mention what for me is probably the most essential part of my tool kit: a pair of reading glasses in a very narrow tube. All the tools in the world wouldn't do me any good if I can't see what the heck I'm doing, and at this stage of my existance I can't see sh$t close up without some cheaters.
You & me both bro!!!!........sucks to get older and lose the close up vision!!! I don't know about you but I can see long distance excellent but put a newspaper in front of me and I have to push it away from my face to even try & read it. Usually...the readers have to come out!!

Ahahah! Dave500 and Mr Burns- In the left pocket of my riding jacket lives the little box that fuses are sold in. It contains two extra main fuses and the entirety of the foil from a U.S. spec California Tax stamped pack of Camel Lights. Before I went through my charging system, I used the entirety of this lil kit more than once. Since, I haven't needed it- and thankfully, as this go at quitting smoking seems to be successful. A double check shows the foil still there with two fuses. Enough to get the bike home- In flames! No Smoking!

Thank you, Cycleranger,  that piece is missing on my K0.  Gotta fabricate something.  Getting gear and tools ready for the ride is almost as good as riding  ;D

I have a plastic one you can have for the price of shipping.
Of course it's not period-correct, the plastic trays were used in 77-78 and maybe 76?
Otherwise the metal ones are all the same and can be found on ebay fairly cheaply.

That's where that one in my K5 came from. Some PO had cut out the old one with a hack saw!

Thank you. I just found out the PO got rid of the tray to install his special hinge for the seat. The original tray will not fit now, i will have to get creative :)

Spare ignition key is in my kit, plus piece of rubber hose to use on spark plugs, scotch brite and sand paper.
I use the vehicle kit often enough to make sure I can do most of the maintenance.

LOL I remember buying 17mm socket in Neuschweinstein to do something on the CBX750 on the way to France.

Yes !... someone else said it !... a hidden spare key somewhere on your bike. When your 500 miles from home and lost the key it's a bummer. Yeah you can hot-wire the bikes ign. but the steering lock?  :o
If your sure it's a carb problem; it's ignition,

So, your spare ignition key is in your kit... I hope your kit isn't under the seat and that you need the key to get to it...

I have a spare key taped discretely to the frame.

So far yes and the seat does not lock. You have to understand the middle of nowhere where i ride and park.  Secret location is the plan but as off now and with the winter upon us the key in kit is quite safe.  Besides Dorothy looks like insured by Smith and Wesson and nobody in the right state of mind will mess with her. Hmm, scratch that.  Insurance provided by Ruger :)
