This is probably the worst part. I will try to sink it in Molasses, just need to find a big enough container, Barrel or something.Then let it soak, think if i re chrome or paint. Depending on the price of chrome.

I think that fender has a bit too much rust to save. I'm sure you can get the surface rust off of it but the fact that it has that much rust means the chrome now has tiny holy and rust is starting to form underneath. This means the rust will come back sooner or later (most likely sooner).

I think it would probably be cheaper to try and find a good used fender or even a NOS piece rather than re-chroming.

You're right i was just looking at it and tiny holes shure is.
I might just take the rust off with molasses and keep shinning it with otosol this winter ,( every 2 week or so;)) Its an easy component to remove and fix or replace later .I whant to concentrate on the big pieces for this year,(frame powdercoat,darn rust, and motor)
But sooner or later i'll have to deal with it. And the rear fender is pretty much the same.

Today is moto day, we need to take the sidecar off from my friend's Triumph, he is bringing it in to get a motor overhall .
I will have more room to operate on my CB .
I will get a hand from him to remove the motor out of my frame.

This looks cool too, to my taste is a good option for front and rear rusty fenders.

Yes thats nice. You still have to check how much dechroming cost since you really have to get rid of all the rust etc. But thats a good option !

Today was a carb day,
Take all 4 apart making shure to number every set...
1234 1234 qqqqq 1234 my head hurts it stinks in here.. Must stop....
Old gas that looks and smells like tar ..
But will clean up good, i also got new carb seals and gaskets kit from Honda.

Anybody knows the best way to clean gummy carb internal parts? Or just dishsoapy wather will do..?
The bodies will cleaned with soda blasting method,( see pictures and make a google serch just to see)
I will try it out and let you know.

I just want to ad that there are a few quite big ebay stores that sells alot of the same stuffs but normaly cheaper, since most of the DSS, CMNSL parts is without VAT.

I did see them on ebay, but i like to compare prices and could not find another sources..
Shipping from China to canada is cheap, gets expensive wen comming from europe,
From the United States its not so bad but often have to pay duty. So...
Anyways, time to go carb boot shopping.

We did get the side car off the bonny, now its out of the garage to make room for my pickup who is in need of a wiper motor,
Kind of hard to replace outside, at minus 30c. When you have a garage available.

I managed to find a friend and a half hour of spare time (hard to find both at the same time) so i got the motor out of the frame.
Frame goes to powdercoat with swing arm, stand and sidestand, battery box, that is it for now. I can leave the rest of bits like foot pegs ignition bracket and odds and ends for next winter project.
Starting next week with engin top end teardown.
Also need to order a allen bolts kit i can get stainless metric in all size with work.
I will see, the originals philips head are still in good shape with a bit of polish
I only have one bugger , next to the shifter shaft, that i rounded the x, i need to work on that.
Anyways, here we have decent amout of snow so tomorow is snowboard day, i just cant whait to try out my new boots,( last ones were too big) maybe garage time after if i have enough time before getting my kid at his kungfu lessions. Time wil tell

My freind scored big time, the sidecar wuz cheap, and it looks so good with his Bonny.
It will be even better once he paints it to mach his bike.

Perfect for the family, but you do lose all sense of being on a motorbike, just like being on a quad that does not whant to turn. Parking lot practice is a must.
Some says it works better with leading link front suspention and square profile tires

I took a bit of time for my motorcycle,carbs.
Work has been stupidly occupied, all good,(we need that)
A freind lent me a ultrasonic machine, it was intended for cleaning ink from fountain pen at is work, i will defenately buy a bigger one for future projects but, this little
ltrasonic thing works great, i used pinesol as a degreaser, it got rid of the old gas smell, and made the parts shine( dont dip your hand in when it is buzzing, it feels wrd even wiht nitrile gloves on
I just had to turn the carb body a few time to give it all a good soak.
Brushed everything with warm water afterwards.
Had fun rebuilding all four carb with my son.
New gaskets of course
Might need new jets and needles. Will see
I need to polish the float bols and covers to make them better than new and put the carbs back on the carrier.
I find this fun, so does my son.

Not quite done with the carbs but getting there, next project is to get the frame painted,then start the rebuild.
