It was finally my turn.... Purchased a Candy Jade Green 550
« on: September 23, 2014, 07:19:44 PM »
So after 10+ Honda CB's the last 4 months, I finally managed to get a Candy Jade Green cb550. I was so jealous of everyone in here posting pictures of theirs. I purchased this 1975 CB550 from a guy about two hours away. It was completely restored from the ground up (minus the paint. Luckily he kept the tank and side covers original). It looks amazing and was replaced with all Honda parts mins the DID wheels.

Has anyone seen this bike on any of the motorcycle forums? I am curios if the guy had a build thread anywhere I could read up on. I purchased the bike in eastern Pennsylvania.

Any help is appreciated.

In this case it was. I usually prefer to buy bikes that need work but made an exception for this one. I will still be on the hunt for a "barn find" type. I am actually going to buy an other one this weekend. The guy says its a 1974 but the tank is not the period correct color scheme. It is supposively a 1974 but it has the 1975-1976 style tank stickers. It is green however.

Nice very nice. I hope my turn comes with the candy green or red(?) with 4-4 pipes in a condition like that. Time will come for sure!

That looks a great bike, good luck with it. Why do some people cover or remove the number plate when posting photos?

Really beautiful bike!!!  Wonderful to see a CB like this in good OEM condition. One of the best CB500 I have ever seen.70's included.

I have seen too many transformed to an old UK bike a la Norton Manx style. CB's have their own history well worth to maintain. My bike is in the transformation back to almost Honda original.
