Hi,

I'm going to check these wheels out at lunch today and don't know much about them...

Has anyone heard of or seen these before? All I have come up with on the Internet is modern day metric car wheels...

Looks like a good deal for $50 front and rear with good rubber.

Search on here Ben - someone had the Hayashi wheels - buy them!! (or Ill buy them and send you the cash

) Also the price for the rear wheel is good -Id buy that as well due to all the pot holes - already have a dented rear (replaced now)

Be aware that the stock 750 had wheels of 19" front, 18" rear (17" rear on K7 and K8). This sets up the trail to 3.75" on the front end. The wheels in the picture look like they might be 18" both: this will reduce trail if this is true, making the bike VERY quick-steering and somewhat more prone to speed wiggles. This can be overcome by other suspension tuning, like longer front forks or air forks, or shorter rear shocks (reduces cornering clearance), just something to be aware about.

Pretty wheels, though, and tubeless tires!

Doesn't this mean that the rear is 18" and the front is 19"?

Well,

I just got back from picking them up. They're in excellent but grimy shape. You can't tell from the photo I posted earlier but they're the gold with silver rim and will look like this when cleaned up...http://forums.sohc4.net/index.php?topic=38004.0 They have a pretty fresh set of Cheng Shen tires on them. I paid $50 for them with the tires....

Amazingly enough as mkramer1121 pointed out Yamiya is currently selling these for $2,775 plus shipping

He had a bunch of 73 and 78 parts from project bikes he had bought -- and he was working on a really cool Amen Savior / SOHC 750 chopper.

I picked up a 73 gas tank in great shape which was spraybombed blue but creemed inside for $10. The coating inside was white....

And I asked him if he had anything for exhausts and he said I could have the HM341's that came off the bike which were hanging up in the shed. They're in about the same shape as mine -- some mufflers are a little better... I should be able to cobble together a set from the best of both for my current ride.

Saw a cool set for a Kawi the other day, looked like 2 spun halves (with cutouts) with lots of rivets.. look sorta familiar..

I may be getting the Kawi mags..

Anyone remember these??.. 2 halves rivetted together with at least 20 rivets. There is pie shaped cutouts leaving about 5 or 6 fat spokes (part not cut out)

These Hayashi rims are helping me with the color scheme of my K6 bagger..... I'll go with the Black and gold look that Yamiya has in their photo.

The tanks stripes are decals. Pretty cheap to buy.

I got in some garage time this evening and mounted up my "new" wheels.

They look like they've been on the bike forever. I scrubbed most of the crud off of them, but there is still more. In one place the paint has peeled off, in others there is a drip like stain.........

Anyway I think they look great. They're shod with Cheng Shen vinage looking tires with almost no wear. First ride tomorrow with pics hopefully.

You've got me so worked up after seeing those Hayashi mags that all I can think about right now is mags. I was all set to powder coat my spoke rims gold but that idea is out the window now. These projects have a way of getting progressively more expensive don't they?
