Just to name a couple. Other than that, type in cafe seat into Google and stat searching around.

do any of the airtech seats work on 550s? Do you attach this to the stock setup or is there a lot of fabrication?

Some good links. I particularly like this seat from Carpy:

But I, personally am looking for one of those cafe seats like the one above, but it is all fabric, and bolts right on as a replacement. So no required painting or drilling. Haven't found one yet. All the links so far list bare fiberglass seats that need upholstering and finishing.

I'm curious. Most places seem to only sell seats for CB750's.  Will these fit 550's as well?

For example, the CB75021 from here:

Check out this guy.  I got a seat from him a few months ago.  Nice work and a pleasure to deal with. He's a member of DoTheTon.com.

I've got the ClassicCycleCity Giuliari replica.  Pricey?  Yeah, but you get your money's worth.  Excellent build quality and SUPER comfortable.  I think he builds them with memory foam or something.  Good guy to deal with, too.  He builds the seats one-off, so you can ask for some basic customization.

It would be cool to see a thread on here that shows the steps for making a nice seat out of one of those seat pans.

I bet it isn't that hard. Get some foam, contour it to the seat, get some leather padding to wrap around it, bolt it on, cut holes in the seat pan to mount to brackets on frame...That just about do it?

But still, would be awesome for a picture tutorial  ;D

Hi,

thanks for the compliment.

Here is pic tutorial where you can see how we assemble our Classic Cycle City seats.
I hope it helps a little bit.

Oh, and we released a new CB750 K0-K6 bolt on cafe seat with squared and paintable hump for stock frames and tanks
(imagine there is no rear fender in the pics and see the flowing line with the tank.

Can you please give me an idea of the price of this seat ?

I have an airtech seat that I modified. the cushion is made from Medium and Heavy weight High Density Foam.
Started out with this.

Chopped orig airtech seat pan off.

smoothed out the back section of the seat.

Ended up with this. Looks less bulky and comfy:

Mine was $436.55 shipped.  I almost went with a Benjis seat (for about the same green), but the classic lines of the Giuliari had me.  That's the biggest single expense I've made on this bike and the biggest difference, aesthetically speaking.  Now I'm just trying to figure out what to do for a classic looking tail light if I chuck the fender.

Cafe2be: What kinda suspenders you got there?  Progressives with a reservoir?

I have an Airtech seat (click the link called "thread" in my signature).  I like the looks of it, but the quality doesn't seem to be that great.  It's supposed to use the factory hinges but it doesn't fit that well.  I'm not the only person that has had this problem with this particular seat.

Cafe2be: Yes, those are really nice looking rear shocks.  I'd like to know what they are too.

Made mine out of the tail piece off a Kawa H2 and plywood wrapped

I got mine upholstered from Hotwing glass. I chose the Road Race #2. If you want to use the hinge mount go for #3
