Tell me about your aftermarket ignition switch problems
« on: October 20, 2009, 07:56:14 PM »
I've been researching Honda brand switches for my 75 750F. My part number would be 35100-377-007. UNAVAILABLE. Seems 35100-422-007 is available and appears it might be interchangeable. Good and bad. The set including the seat lock is not available. I want to avoid 2 different keys!

Please tell me your specific problem/beef you have with aftermarket ignition switches. I've seen many complaints such as "junk-do not use". I would surmise it is either &/or 2 things: The actual lock and steering lock mechanism -OR- the plastic connector/base. So whats your problem??
As of today 3/13/2012 my original owner 75 CB750F has made it through 3 wives, er EX-wives. Free at last.  ;-)

It was the switch base for me Jerry, just didn't fit correctly.

All I needed was the ign switch though as I modified a VF750 seat/tail on that bike and the ignition key fit the seat lock so had a locksmith make that key work the lock.

Not much help huh?

I hear the same but have never had a problem UNLESS the loom is too tight and pull on the switch----which isnt really a switch fault.

according to motogrid the lock set for the cbx is 35010-422-020 and costs about $160 whilst the contact base part on its own is 35101-422-007 and cost about $35

hope that helps
