music download sites
« on: December 01, 2009, 12:44:49 AM »
I'm learning guitar and some of the songs we are studying I haven't even heard of so I thought I'd download them and listen to them.
I used to use IMESH and later Limewire but nothing seems to work well for finding songs these days.
Anyone have a good site that hasn't been closed down by the PC brigade?
I think the thing I most like about motorcycling is the speed at which my brain must process information at to avoid the numb skulls who are eating pies, playing the ukulele, applying make-up etc in the comfort of their airconditioned armchairs as they make random attempts to kill me!!!!!!!

i've used sites like mininova and pirate bay for getting entire albums and even discographies. i have around 7800 mp3's on my machine now.

Both of which have been shut down.

My best suggestion is to search for the song on YouTube. People will often post music videos or something they've done with that song as a soundtrack. YouTube has cracked down on that a little bit but for the most part I've always been able to find the songs I'm looking for.

You sure about that?  I'm guessing not since I'm downloading some music from Pirate Bay as we type. :)

Oops. Are they back up? I know mininova went legit sometime in the past couple of weeks though.

I usually use google and put torrent and and artist in the search bar. Isohunt seems to  be pretty reliable.
Or like Laminar said search youtube.

It's a Kenny Rogers oldie from possibly the 70's "Lady play your symphony" damned if I can find a site to download it and I'm betting I can't buy a copy at the record store anymore. ;D

I get most of my chords'n tabs from "Chordie". ;D
