Topic: CR750 rep. fairings/ paint

Hi - Can anyone help me with information on CR750 replica fairings? I know Air-Tech do a fairing + oil cooler ducts but shipping to the UK is expensive - more than the cost of the fairing! Another is available through TGA.co.uk. Are they they same fairing? Anyone with experience of either?

Also, I want to get the correct colour paint (that strange candy orangey/red!). Anyone know a colour/ code or source of supply?

Phil, TGA is a French Company, they were at Bikerstaff, Lancaashire but moved to France some years ago.

I think the paint is a factory color for that year, but don't hold me to it...

I can help with the fairing Phil - cost is £210 to your doorstep and that includes the screen as well. It comes in red GRP for you to paint however you wish! Let me know if you want one sorting...

If you want a correct looking fairing for your CR750, I can supply the three piece version which allows much lower costs to ship overseas. Hand laid glass fiber and allows you to work on engine on both sides without taking upper off. Has markings for oil cooler ducts and everything.  This is a very well made fairing, that has much thicker glass (hand laid) and is from original factory mold.

Did anyone come up with the correct colour code/name for the CR750 Dayton bikes? There's another thread for orange bikes in the SOHC/4 section which mentions 'sunrise orange' and 'burnt orange' for some of the early seventies road bikes. Perchance they are one of the same, but are they or is it the same as that used on the Dayton bikes. Perhaps KOS can tell us what he used on the bike that now resides in the Barber Museum.

The only real true factory fairing is the one from Airtech as they took  a mold from  from the original I had that I received from Team Honda dumpster scavenge, back years ago. I will research the color as my painter found it and has the details. But as he is a painter, it will take a while...they are all such, difficult people to deal with? They must smell too many fumes or something, as they always seem to be the hardest to deal with when building a bike or car?
