This is in my build thread but not everyone is gonna see that. I had the idea a while ago but after seeing Tron(and seeing how the Duck was done) I figured I could do one better.

Its lit by 36 dual intensity LEDs from custom dynamics.

Its extremely bright from behind and pretty bright from side angles.

Looks great man! I love Custom Dynamics. Little on the pricey side, but you can't beat plug and play LEDs. I went with one of their flush mount kits (the top light). Couldn't be happier. Good luck on the rest of the build.

Thanks guys. Ringo, your build is one of my favorites. I used the flush mount LED as well, but I just used the LED strip from it because of its short height. I didnt use the reflector portion and bought a small sheet of 1/2 polycarbonate so I could make the tight radius curve with it. I think we have the same LED tail light, I got the 36 LED strip.

Very cool. My LED strips were epoxied into the housing from CD. I take it yours weren't? I had to fabricate a flat area into the back of my seat to to accommodate the housing. It was what I was planning to do from the start, but the option of flexibility would have been nice!

Looks great. The CD LEDs are good quality. I've run some of the Radiantz LED strips on my Harley for years and never had any problem. Are you doing integrated turns also or are you adding separate turn signals?

An SV? Cost in materials including the LED and frame loop was about 100 bucks. Time wise it took me about 1 full day of work and that was with a break for motocross on CBS.

The LED is plug and play... if you can do some wiring and fab that is. Basically this is just a square hole in a curved piece of tube. I used 16 gauge steel to make a pocket and the LED loads in from the top and back. It then shines through the opening and through a thick piece of polycarbonate that I sculpted to match the outside profile of the frame loop. Its a hot rod trick used when you want to blend lights into body work.

And. Local guy here, Goldammer has made them as narrow as 1/4 inch, and they are surprisingly bright, Has them on several of his bikes, some are built into the edge of the fender, and look invisible til lit. Two of his bikes that have them are Trouble, and BTR 3, can find them on line.

I could incorporate turn signals into the light but decided not to run them. Ive since TIGed the sheet steel to the frame loop and ground it smooth. The frame is also PCed black. Ill take better photos as soon as the bike is on the road.

The very thin ones on Goldammer bike signal and work as a brakelight, and the fender edge is about 3/8, or less in thickness..

I'm guessing you purchased this light. I can't see from the photos how one would attach the led board to anything. Did you glue the back of the board to a piece of steel? There doesn't appear to be holes for bolts or screws...

Can you shed alittle light

on how you accomplished this?

Yup thats exactly the one. That LED board weighs about nothing and I just mounted it to the back edge of the pocket I made with the double sided tape. Its been holding fine and is protected from the elements. Some railroad track launches and its still holding strong.
