My new project

I've been wanting to do this for a while (ever since my friends and I put a cb175 motor on a lawnmower frame back in high school). This is my 70s Speedway Scorpion minibike. It moved pretty well with the Briggs 5 horse that was in it, but I think it'll go a little better with the motor from the Cl175 that I bought with no title. I'm pretty sure it'll be the baddest minibike in town when it's done. I'm going to call it my Speedway Special (or the 175SS). Jimmy

Yeah, brakes
. They've never worked very well. There is a small drum in the rear, and a disc up front. The front disc is pretty cheesy, and it's missing the cable-actuated caliper, so I'm going to try and fit a dirtbike disc, caliper and mc. That should stop it pretty well. The top frame rail is the same size as the top engine mount, and the chain lines up when the motor is centered in the frame (the sprockets even use the same size chain), so so far things are working out. If I had a welder I'd already have the engine mounted. I still haven't decided if I'm going to build this like a mini-cafe or a mini-flattracker. Any ideas? Jimmy

That thing should friggin RIP when complete.
Brakes are always a overlooked thing on projects like this, so put as much effort into making
sure you can stop, as you do as going fast.
Keep us all updated with pics and the project goes along...
