Beware of Zedheads bearing gifts
« on: February 17, 2012, 02:47:39 PM »
(I've asked this on the UK SOHC site, figured I better do so here as well.)

Hello! My name is W-P Bill and I'm a confirmed Zedhead.

Enough confession already. While I am indeed a Zedhead, I am ecumenical when it comes to bikes. Regarding SOHC's, I have almost pulled the trigger twice on decent condition 1978 CB750F2's, the Honda over which I lust the second (the most being the CBX six banger, another bike I have almost pulled the trigger on at two separate occasions).

I live in Japan, about 60kms from central Tokyo. During a recent trip to southern and central Japan, I happened to be in the vicinity of three big names in the Honda SOHC restoration business. I dropped by and snapped some pics at all ther locations. Before I post those photos here, since I have zero experience with this forum, I though I had better ask to make sure those three shops have not been covered before.  The three shops are:

Honda Shop NAKANOYA, located near Fukuoka city.

Restore Shop NISHIMATSU, located in Nagoya city.

YAMIYA, also located in Nagoya city.

Please let me know.

Even if they have we don't care, we'll look at the pictures just the same!

Howdy!  :)

Well, I tried but I get the message which says  I'm not allowed to post external links. Bummer desu...

Perhaps one of the folks with moderator authorities for both the UK and US site can copy/paste or something in my stead? I really would prefer posts on both sites, because I told the owners of all three shops in return for letting me take pictures I would try and get pictures of their shops posted on both the US and UK SOHC/4 fora.

In the meantime, if you head over to SOHC.co.uk site, you can see photos of all three shops. I've posted three threads, one for each shop, in the "Recommended Sources For Parts And Services" sub-forum.

I use Photobucket then just paste in the IMG link below the picture. Works like a charm. I can't respond to what Schmthaus says though. Do you have the pics in an external site or on your computer? We might be able to grab a link from you on an external site if we had access??
As of today 3/13/2012 my original owner 75 CB750F has made it through 3 wives, er EX-wives. Free at last.  ;-)

All the photos are on Photobucket. What I tried to do was to copy the verbiage from the UK site, links and all included, into a post here. No joy, got the message instead.

Another question:

Under which topic area should I post these photos? Not really a tech issue, and the Asia section looks sparsely populated. Besides, the intent is to share the photos with people outside Japan/Asia.
