Depending on whether you have resistive caps and leads, you may have a similar issue that I had. A weak spark.

Have a read through my thread on the issue:

http://forums.sohc4.net/index.php?topic=87505.0

In the end, I determined that it was the different lengths of lead to each spark plug. I know that sounds crazy, but I had brand new Dyna S, Dyna 5ohm coils and leads and caps. After a lot of trial and error, it was the lead length.

Rick.

today i mounted the freshly rebuilt carbs...

the engine still fire up with only 3 cylinders, the one that is not firing is always the 4th cyl

the weird thing is that 1 month ago the problem was that the 2nd cyl wasn't firing... now the 4th is giving problems even with the rebuilt carbs...

damn! :(

Fuel, air, spark. It is one of those issues.

Fuel:
Are your carbs getting fuel? If you open the drain screws in the bowls, do they all have fuel?

Air:
Make sure you don't have a vacuum leak in the rubber manifolds. It's a simple test to do, you'll find plenty of walkthroughs on this forum. If you have a carb sync tool, it couldn't hurt to do that either.

Spark:
Get a multimeter and test your coils. Then leads for resistance. What ignition are you running? Points or electronic?

I would be surprised if it is a problem with your carbs. I would guess an air or spark issue.

Rick.

this is the little #$%*ty video i made this morning

prima accensione a 4

now it's running without any filter, just the rubber staks of the stock airbox, because i want to mount the airbox back for the test...

then change for 85 jets and mount pods

when'll have my license plate, i'll mount the clip-on and everything else, now it's back to 100% stock condition

Hi guys...

i have found this two set of rearsets, i'll try to mount them using a little bracket welded to the frame

the alu one is for a gsx-r, it seems to be shorter than the other on, but the shift lever is pointing the ground, but it looks like that the lever could be self-rotated

the blue one are for a r1, longer mounting plate, but correct shifter bracket

both are made for rear disk, do you think i can use them with the oem drum?

wich one is the best in your opinion?

thanks
thanks

Mugen_Stumpo,

It took me quite a few frustrating hours to get to shortening the spark plug leads so I'm glad it has helped a fellow SOHC4'er!

Would love to see those fork end caps installed. Let me know how they workout when you do. Where did you get them?
