1975 CB 550 F, $100.00.
« on: March 09, 2012, 05:31:09 PM »
Received a phone call today on a 1975 CB 550 F. Guy wanted to seal the deal tonight however he had to locate the title. No deal. I think he was heading to the Casino's.  ;)

He said he will call me tomorrow and I can come get it, with title. $100.00.

Just a parts bike to me. Clean fenders, exhaust and such. Extra Supersport tank. New seat cover.

More to follow. Here are some pics.

Parts bike? That would make a nice restoration. You got side covers, exhaust, seat looks like everything.  Heck i'll give you $200 for it :)

I've bought worse and paid more, not that it was a good decicision of me.

Paint it canary yellow and I'll pay $800 shipped to my door.

I'm with Duanob-  that bike will probably clean up pretty well and is a good candidate for a resto-  At that price, you can probably turn a fair profit too.

I like to see that there are still deals like this out there!

Shame to break that complete bike up.  I've resurrected far worse.  And they are fun bikes.

No idea. No speedometer. The owner is a little, well, how do I say this. He has the key and the title, so he says. I live two (2) miles from him. Went over there yesterday and said "are we doing this or what"?

I'm not sure if this is even legit. Stay tuned.

Yes, it just might. I'll make that call if I can get it to my house. There lies the problem.

C'mon Toy, what are you gonna do?!

Depends on him. I have called and stopped over to his house. Something is not right here. If you saw the guys house you would think he is a hoarder.

Might not. I have so many leads going on. I have also found several 400 F models most without titles. I think he has four (4) of them.

Several emails back and forth but no bikes as of yet. Cash in hand, waiting on them.  ::)

I don't like games when it comes to buying bikes!

This is what it has been.

Two (2) 1978 CB 750 F models.
One (1) 1975 CB 550 F.
Three (3) or more CB 400 F models.

Have three (3) grand cash in hand.

Have heard nothing.

You're PM sounds about right Steve. This could be the problem. I will not contact him again.

$100 with no title is still an interesting deal.

Even if the title never comes through, you have a mostly in-tact motorcycle.

Here is a little update for all of you.  ;)

As I was searching CL this morning I find a CB 550F listed for $400.00. Same address, same number and voice mailbox full. Listed the very next day I looked at it.

To some of you this would still be a good deal. To me it's lack of ethics, morals and standards.
