Some things make motorcycles take a back seat
« on: March 13, 2012, 05:31:08 PM »
Twins!  Due in September.  The wife and I are finally over the initial "Holy #$%*!" reaction and have made it to pure excitement.  Gonna be some serious sleep-deprived nights ahead but it'll be sooo worth it.  Just wanted to share.

Congrats. Sleep while you can. :)
'Then' and 'than' are completely different words and have completely different meanings. Same with 'of' and 'have'. Set and sit. There, their and they're. Draw and drawer. Could care less/couldn't care less. Bought/brought FFS.

Congrats!  Your motorcycle funds will now be diverted to diaper funds. :)  Well worth it!

My little brother and his wife had twins 3 months ago.  I can't get over how much he has aged these last 3 months.

we had twins 15 years ago.. boy and girl.. you will not necessarily have lots of sleepless nights, ours started sl;eeping through fairly earlier.

I will warn you of this though if you have one of each, you will simply not believe how many people wil STILL ASK if they are identical.. then you get to say things like , Nope only one of them has a dick....lol..

Yup 754, sooo true.  They ask if they are identical a lot.  My boy/girl twins are 9 now.  I have a 7 year old too.  When that 3rd one showed up, I got cut.

If you have multiples, you get discounts at a lot of places.  Oh, and the doctors office will feel for you and give you more free formula.  You will need it.  It is really tough trying to breastfeed two kids.

We got home with the twins, hit the living room and we all finally moved to our bedrooms 3 months later.  I was working 12 hour shifts, our each way (home/work), got 4 hours sleep a day, two at a time.

What a workout, still is, love em to death!

Oh, there are multiples clubs that the wife can join.  They know where the good deals are and some of the larger cities will have used stuff sales that will help you along financially.

I can go on an on....Congrats on the twins!

+1  :o

Our twins are 'security blankets' for each other, as i would guess in most cases they are.  we tried to do the separate cribs thing in the beginning, thinking they wouldn't wake each other, but they ended up sleeping better and longer in the same crib (until they were too big).  my cousin who had twin boys years earlier, reminded us they had spend the first 8+/mos next to each other.

That is not what we mean when we say riding two up.

My son said that having one is like having one.  Having two is like having 10.   ;)

Congratulations, but I am happy for two things: I'm too old for that and it is for you to enjoy.  I envy the grandparents.  That is good fun.

I can't wait to become a grandpa.  Lotsa payback fun to come!

I will give the grandkids money to run around the house and scream at the top of their lungs.  And I will give them real markers to draw pretty pictures on the walls.  I will laugh, laugh, laugh. And the list goes on!
