What music is on in your shop while you build?
« on: April 13, 2012, 01:07:38 AM »
Just a thought, when I get to lock myself away in my workshop for a couple of hours I love to have some music on in the background.

This got me to thinking that most of the guys who are building/restoring SOHC Honda's are most likely of a certain age! and would be aroung the same age as me.

I like to have some Pink Floyd, Tears for Fears, Thin Lizzy,Christy Moore or Yes playing while I build.

What's your taste? ???

Local radio. I like to comment back to the tossers who ring in. Hey, I live alone.   :D
'Then' and 'than' are completely different words and have completely different meanings. Same with 'of' and 'have'. Set and sit. There, their and they're. Draw and drawer. Could care less/couldn't care less. Bought/brought FFS.

Taste really eclectic.   Glenn Miller, Benny Goodman, Patsy Cline, Clapton, Drifters, Bizet's Carmen, John Lee Hooker, and every once in awhile I will grab one of the lp's from the late 60's or early 70's-kind of shows my age doesn't it? . I find  the big band music to be the most relaxing yet inspirational...Larry

Hi Lister,

Local radio can be good but I prefer music.

Hey Momo.

I like big band stuff too, my Dad was a drummer in a big band back in the late 40's early 50's here in Ireland. He couldn't read sheet music but could play almost any tune by ear on our old electric organ. I can remember waking with those youthful hangovers to the sound of "In the mood" and "Standing on the corner watchin all the girls".

THanks for the memories!

6000+ tunes from the ipod on random shuffle or internet radio, usually progressive rock, punk, or classic 60's &'70's.
Or NPR on the radio.

Pink Floyd, Zeppelin, Jethro Tull, Yes, Rush, Beatles, Bob Seger, CCR, King Crimson, The Zombies, Opeth, Porcupine Tree, BTBAM, Bowie, Queen...

The list goes on and on. I think I was born a couple of decades too late.

Does not seem that many like Trance on this forum.  It appears to mostly be classic rock and some heavy head bangin' stuff.

I like DEADMAU5 Does that count? just don;t get around to listening too much of it so I don;t know all the "names" per say.. I have a lot od DJ friends who've got it, but my thing tends to be more mellow and the last thing I want is to Zone out when I'm working on power tools...the sound just tends to be too repetitive for me... Guess I'm an old Fart I just turned 40 April 5th.
