Very informative! Notice how he applies the heat to the outside of the bend? Also, at the end you can see the end of the tube has been plugged; probably packed with foundry sand? I've never seen a rosebud torch that large before!

He's not using that much heat, maybe getting a dull red glow on the area where he's stretching the metal. Look bare-eyed at a TIG arc, welding aluminum for a second or two, and your eyes will feel like someone has poured salt into them...

easy to bend when wall thickness is 2mm or above. a pain when thickness is under 1mm

it must have been ~1982, i did these 4in2in1 for my RSC DOHC.
the same way, filled with sand, heat, by hand, 1mm wall.

Must have packed the pipe with sand other wise there would be creases in the pip on the bends, very good manipulation of a heating torch as very expensive way of bending pipe, great job for the winter months
