So, is this where the posters who post on Every Thread, hang out? LOL.  ;D

Since this is still up here, I am supposing there are those who "Practice Posting", by coming here?    ::)  ;)

Sorry, just had to mess around somewhat.  And, in keeping with a sort of trend,

Well what a day. I took my Sporty for a 150 mile ride. I hadn't intended to, but have you ever had one of those days where you were enjoying your ride so much that you just kept going? The weather was great, sunny and around 70 deg F, the bike was running perfectly, and I had tons of time, so everything just fell into place.

I'd had a problem last time out with a plugged breather in the fuel cap, so with the new "Drag Specialties" lockable cap fitted, it was no longer an issue. I had a couple of "First's" too, the bike has just turned over 5000 miles (not a great deal for a 22 year old bike) and with the minor mods I've done (carb, exhaust and higher gearing with the 18" rear wheel I installed) it hit 100 MPH for the first time in it's life.

In fact, it was getting very close to 120 @ 6000 RPM, before I rapidly backed off when I saw a suspicious looking car coming towards me, that turned out not to be a cop car, but "Careful" is my middle name, which is why I've still got my license........

My brother died in June last year and I've been meaning to put his Triumph Rocket III on the road and get it registered here in Victoria. Last time I rode it was either July or August 2015, just before I started working in Canberra. Not surprisingly, it was covered in crap:

I drained the 2 year old fuel out of the tank (and tipped it in my son's Ford Explorer, being an American truck it's designed to run on low octane gas, so while the Rocket wouldn't have liked it, the Ford loves it) and filled it with fresh fuel, and I was super impressed that it fired up right away! The battery is 10 years old this year and still cranks it over fine, and with fresh fuel, it ran great. I decided to give it a wash, and I have to say that for a 10 year old bike, (with only 7500 miles on the odo) it still looks pretty good.

Tomorrow I'll pump the tyres up, go get a Roadworthy certificate, then to VICROADS (the DMV) to pay them a ridiculous amount of money to make it all legal and get a new number plate. Should have enough time for a nice ride afterwards! Cheers, Terry. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

I was going to ride the oldwing to retiree's breakfast but it was raining. The salt was washed off the roads but it I'm too lazy to do all that cleaning afterwards.

Thanks Jerry, yeah, I can eat some things now, but its all a crap shoot, (pardon the pun) I don't know if I can eat something until after I get the first couple of mouthfuls down, so yesterday I ordered bacon and eggs on toast from the little Vietnamese cafe across the road from the Barracks, and as delicious as it was, after the first couple of bites I knew I was in trouble, so I stared at my food awhile longer, then just stood up, paid, and left.

I tried a sandwich for lunch a couple of hours later with similar results, but when I got home I managed to eat some pasta, so my day didn't completely suck. I'm going out for dinner tomorrow night, so I'm just hoping what ever I choose will play nice and get into my belly. If not, I'll be heading over to the "Pissed Off" thread..... ;D

I mean, um, gosh, Terry, sounds like you got more (less?) than you bargained for with that damn procedure.  I don't trust Drs. now even more (less?) than I used to! I'm glad you can still ride!

Thanks Greg, I'm fine mate, and as much as the complications have been a pain in the arse, I'm still happy that I'm not carrying that extra 105 pounds. It was recently confirmed that I had a heart attack 5 years ago (two years before my brother died of a heart attack) so I really do need to look after myself a bit better, and a lot of the aches and pains that I've been plagued with over the last few years have all but gone away now. (apart from my shoulder, but that's not gonna go away until I have some more surgery later this year)

I have to have a heart stress test on Tuesday just to make sure I haven't done any damage to the old ticker, that will take all of the morning apparently, but with luck the weather will be good on Tuesday, so hopefully I'll have time for a nice long ride in the afternoon! Cheers, Terry. ;D

Well prolly they tell him that statistically two glasses of red wine a week is beneficial.

What else he drinks he prolly doesn't list on the study. As long as he is alive anh has at least two glasses of red wine a week, the rest is nunya.
