I tried to search for the answer, but the search seems broken. Is there some special trick to search for why people respond to every thread?

My low beam burned out what should I do? it works on high beam so I don't understand why it won't work on low. Should I get a new battery?

Check your blinker fluid level.  When it runs low it wreaks havoc on the entire lighting system.

Make sure that you have enough water in the upper chamber so when it drips onto the calcium carbide there is enough to light.  Then make sure that the carbide chamber isnt packed with the slaked lime. Should be good after that.

Are you a coal miner or do you have a theatrical lighting background?  Those are bout the only two types of people who know how a carbide lantern works these days.

I hate the cliffhangers....... where a poster gets 3 or 4 very good suggestions to fix their problem and they respond ' Thanks for the responses, I'll try that tonight " ..... and never come back to say what the cure was......... very annoying, nobody learns anything and just plain rude.... happens too much, IMO  ::)
If your sure it's a carb problem; it's ignition,

You could just use the speedo or tach housing and run a nylon tube to the lamp in question. Probobly want to use some calking on the housing first. If this is for your KO, just use superglue because the housing is plastic.
