Ok, so i re-posted because my thread has disappeared. So here we go again i need to finish this project! picture to come of what its currently looks like what I'm stuck on and etc.

this is basically the beginning of the project, bad photo I know but didnt have much room to even move.



stripped down to just the frame was sand blasted and primed


primer


black acrylic enamel, i went with a high heat for some reason i thought aircooled engine produces heat and I would need a tougher paint.


Painted the tank, pretty much just taped off an measured/ eyeballed


Parts primed and painted


my airfilters that came with the boc of parts...


seat i had made and upholstered


trying to figure out the components for the electrical


cleaned carbs


basically the general idea


So after all that work i bought a vn900 custom kawasaki anyways haha, and its mostly black and red so i think i may go with a clean all candy apple green with and irish theme to it. not sure paint is still a long ways away.

I have to do...
-electrical
-front end brakes
-front controls
-gauges (rebuild or buy just a speedo)
-adjustments to chain brakes and clutch

Good work mate, and there aren't too many K0 cafe racers out there either! ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

Next step through the week I want to make a template/ mounting plate for a new speedometer and housing and base it off the current triple tree. Also plan on struggling through the wiring figuring out my mount plate for that aswell and adding grounds and fuses. Maybe bleed the brakes, and make some minor adjustment and take photos along the way! I'm also thinkin of gettin new rims. I like spokes but the rim itself is starting to rust and to me that mean re chrome or pain and I dot have a ton of cash to kick around. Any comments or tips are appreciated!

Powder coating the rims is cheap enough and the spokes are a classic look.

Ya I was thinking that too but I'm also thinking a change in color, so I might hold off on that. But at the moment colony wise I'd do black rim in a gloss finish with chrome spokes.

Here's Some more Picture for you guys of the controls what can you tell me about these?

Right hand side inside, the signal switch doesnt seem to wanna work it kinda flops around



Left hand side, wires are pretty rough.




And i reamed both these controls to run the wiring with the clubmans


had to do some work on my truck tonight so not as much as i hoped to post sorry more to come tomorrow!

Pics coming in an hour or so just working on the wiring for some reason in some places there's too many wires some places not enough... Previous owner did some splicing I think..

rectifier from a 79 cb750, wondering if anyone can tell me which wires go to which designated component?


hmm theres an extra grey wires coming from the left control..


and i cant seem to find a brown with blue wire anywhere on the print..


rats nest im dealing with at the moment...

CB750supply.com sell really good repro harnesses for 75 bucks mate, if you're not worried about buying after-market stuff? Cheers, Terry. ;D

Also I'm trying to salvage as much as possible I don't want to be one of these throw away generation guys, so I might lay everything out on the coffee table (hopefully the Gf doesn't kick my butt) and go one wire at a time, I've notice a lot more splicing then previous inspections. Also a question on the rectifier which wires would the two black, red/white, green and white go? This is off a 80' cb750 k that was a parts bike.

Looking good so far...On the 74 cb550 the brown/light blue wire is turn signal buzzer not sure if its the same for you..

So it's very possible to have cb550 controls rather then the actual cb750 ones... I may have to do some digging.

Nice looking bike, in regards to your speedo, check out Speedhut gauges, I have them on my bike and I am very pleased with them.  There is a link to how I fitted them in my signature.

The cases, I already had, the speed pick up, I got from the local bike wrecker for nothing, because he owed me a favour and the instruments cost me just over $300 shipped to Australia when our dollar was just over the US dollar.  I think it took about 45 mins to mount the instruments into each case, then a couple of hours wiring them up, what took the longest was figuring out how to make the speedo work, the instructions regarding the speedo sensor were a little vague.  If I was to buy them again I would get the GPS speedo, it would make it a lot easier to make it all work, and it has some cool features I didn't know about till after I had bought mine, like 0-60 times and 1/4mile times.  Another bonus of the speedhut gauges is they use less power to run the whole gauge including the back light than is used by the 2 bulbs in the backlight of the original instruments.

You got the best carbs Honda ever made for the CB750 as far as I am concerned.
BTW... What kind of exhaust system do you have and what is the jetting??
Idle jet and main jet size?
