New ride: 1983 Goldwing
« on: October 04, 2012, 10:28:52 AM »
This had been posted on CL for a couple of months. They finally dropped the price by $500 and I had to get it. Needs a new 7v regulator for the fuel & temp gauges, a new petcock and the carbs gone through at some point.. Starts and idles fine and is good at over-half-throttle but one cylinder (#4?) sputters a little. Most likely a sticky vacuum piston or dirty slow jets. PO says the belts were changed but I'll probably do them anyway just to be sure. I've already removed the stickers, except for the one on the tail that says "Lethal Angel" LOL!  :)

If it's worth doing, it's worth doing twice.

Nice. Super smooth engine and a fantastic touring bike. With just a little effort a naked '83 can be turned into a beautiful Road King style bagger.
