Oh man yeah I definitely know what you mean. I used to work at a warehouse with 12-15 hour days with school on top. Very physically taxing :P

I'll get better pics in the daylight tomorrow.

I've been pretty busy lately doing some remodeling on my house. Havent really had time to mess with the bike. Here are a few quick update pics.
New clip ons, controls, brake and clutch levers, New points, and cleaning up the covers to be ready for powdercoating...

They are actually for a Yamaha R6. I found them on cheapBay for $130. Basically cgr knockoffs. A friend of mine bought the same ones and loves them. Figured i give them a try since this is somewhat of a budget build. I would have loved to have the real deal but they are too pricey for me.  :-\

The seat is in great condition other than the brackets that hold the strap are rusty. I plan one keeping it. My plan is to make or buy a one up seat using the stock mounts for when I ride. I'm going to keep the original for when the wife wants to hop on the back.

Here is a little sneek peek at the color my valve cover and other covers are going to be powdercoated.  ;D

I'm hoping to have them back by next week. It's hard to tell but the powder has a silver and blue flake in it.

While I wait, I've been cleaning up the to be painted. This thing was pretty disgusting!

Just about all cleaned up.

And a few other parts that I have cleaned up.

I'll have more updates as.they come.

The back if your engine looks almost as bad as mine did. ha Thank the auto chain luber for that! Looks like you've done a good job cleaning it up.

Those controls are pretty wild looking.  8)

Thanks!!!
It was pretty nasty! Haha!! Took my sweet time with it. I've been soaking it down with mean green degreaser for the past week and finally took the time to scrub it with a tooth brush. I'll be hitting it with a scotch brite pad and painting it within the next week or so.

I searched different sites for a stainless allen bolt kit and came across a seller on eBay by the name of AlloyBoltz. They had great feedback amd read good things about them. What was really impressing was the price. I payed a hair under 30 bucks for all of this...

And the best part, everything is labeled!!!

Wow. I paid a heck of a lot more for my kit from Cycle X (aluminum fasteners that are anodized) and they weren't labeled and pretty tough to figure what goes where.

I probably would have went with something like that if I'd known about it. Nice find.

Be sure to use silver colored antisieze on the bolts to prevent dissimilar metals corrosion.

I always research my cheapest options but try not to buy junk. I'm not the type of person who has to have the best of the best. But try not to cheap out too much that it will come back to haunt me.

Its been 3 months since ive taken my stuff to get powder coated. Long story short... here it be!!!

Im doing things ass backwards. The rest of the engine is going to be painted tomorrow. I figured it would be easier to mask off the covers after installed than it would be to paint without any covers on it at all. We will see. Im ready to get this thing together!!!.

Very clean. Bright silver for the engine paint?
Don't forget to use silver colored antisieze on the SS bolts, don't want dissimilar metals eating the cases.

Anti seize was applied to every one. And im thinking about doing the jugs black and the rest silver.  then polish the ends of the fins jugs. Im undecided on the black...

Today I got the motor painted. It was mostly prepped already. I gave it a quick acetone bath and let dry for a few hrs. The paint turned out great. Ive been playing with the vht paint for the past few months to test out a few different ways to prime and paint. I found that if you let the primer set for about 30 minutes then hit it with a base, then it bonds really well. Ive done a few different test pieces and this seemed to work for me.

On with the photos!

just a few teasers for now. I probably wont post any more until its back in the frame.
