If you got calls all the way from LA, you could have gotten quite a bit more on it. Part of me thinks it's good to price them at what they are rather than what you can get for them, but part of me suspects that whoever bought it is likely just flipping it as well. Oh well, keep us posted with where you go next!

Actually I mentioned that to the buyer!  Flip it. ;D Had four (4) people in line but the buyer called first, drove 100 miles one way after work. I don't sell like that. Ethics, morals and standards.

Young kid that wants to build a cafe bike. The 550 was perfect for that. His neighbor does metal fab work. He is also a Certified BMW mechanic and has access to all the equipment he would need including a paint booth.

If I can inspire and motovate the younger crowd towards these old Honda's then I feel good about it. Like most things it just dies away.

A case in point. I downloaded an App for the Morse Code. Always wanted to learn but have no idea what in the he!! for.  ;D

It was a lot worse in person then the camera would show. It has heavy surface rust on everything from sitting in the Pacific Northwest.
HEY!  >:(  I resemble that remark!  ;D

Oh! Sorry.

What are you doing with the Comstars?

Selling if I can figure out what they fit.  ::)

Need to get the size off the rim and see what we can figure out. I noticed that the "Honda" is high lighted in white if that helps.

The guy down in LA, Vintage Honda CB in Glendale, has bad reputation to flip and rip off younger riders.

Here's one example

WOW! According to the web site he has several nice bikes. And he wanted to send PP right now for full amount.

Sounds like I dodged a bullet.  :o

The front is: J19 by 1.85 1078 DOT Has rotor.

The rear is: N17 by 2.50 1078 DOT and has a drum.

Wheels rough. Shipping costs would not make the wheels feasable in most cases.

Well, the super clean Yamaha XS 750 sold on Wednesday. The 77 CB 750 K is being sold tomorrow unless it falls through.

Looks like a strike out this week on another purchase.  ;D

I think those are CB650 wheels. You're probably right that shipping would be a killer, but just for the the hell of it, what do the two wheels weight together?

I want that style Comstar for the bike I am building, although I was thinking a GL1000 front end swap with twin disks, but a 650 wheel could be worth while as I should be able to fit it to my stock 550 forks.

No idea of weight. Of couse the tires would come off. Probably 40 to 50 pounds combined. No boxes to even pack them.

When I bought the bike the owner said the front would fit but the rear would not.

I really didn't pay much attention. Just throw them in the trailer.  ;)

I would think something would be closer. I think I can buy a complete titled 650 for $400.00. It's 22 miles from me just not into that model.

Of course you can.

The nearest under $500 complete titled bike I have found (and I look every day) is 220+ miles. The nearested titled frame is 270 miles.

Thus the reason it was painted with black paint. Even the rims.

Yup, flipper bike.

On to the next!
