Gday Brian, I was talking about Jerry Kooistra, do you know him..?  He builds some pretty impressive bikes, just like you of course.... ;D ;)

Not well but I've met him.
Seems like a nice fella.
I think Levi Day rides some of his bikes.
Their pit was just down from us at the Island classic.

Cheers,
Brian

Yeah, Levi rides the 500 and 350 Australian championship bikes, they are works of art. Jerry had a heart attack at Phillip Island this year, last time i spoke to him he seemed ok but a heart attack is never a good thing.......... :o

too much time working and not enough time playing with the bikes

The GS750/840 is ready to go back to the dyno
put in a new head gasket with APE heavy studs

The 1100 is on the lift and we are going to re-time the cams
going to try to get them down to 105 in and 107 ex
I also put on a pingle fuel valve so I don't have to use the vacum petcock as Brian and I think that it was
restricting flow at high rpms with the flat slides

I need to program when the retard starts on the turbo bike (There is a question about how much)
and it will be ready for the dyno also

Yeah....that looks very familiar. ;D Lots of work in that piece....GSXR valves, cistom exhaust guides as the original bores had been reamed out for replacement guides. Kibblewhite makes conversion guides for the GS BUT they are not offered in oversize. Why I have no idea. Had to cut down  something like +.065 GSXR guides. That of course required different bases etc etc etc. Sleepless nights. ::) The spring bases on the exhaust side are actually from the CB750 5mm conversion kit. So....that engine is part CB. ;D ;D ;D

That was the biggest piece o' $hit ever rolled into my garage. I'd like to ask the men/man who bought that POS.....WTF he was thinking because he doesn't know motorcycles at all. Or he does and decided to F'd Sam. That is one subject I want closure on. That bike was a POS and good money was paid. Who the hell "brokered" that deal??????????????????????????????????????????????
 Speak up man.......!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!n   You $uck!!!
Yeh,  it was worse when I got it!  Remember going, Bill....here you done it again! All good now, not the day I picked it up from Rick. As I said before anywhere you had been was fine! But there was still so much to do! Oh well, it's paying off now, but there were days I was ready to throw in the towel...dem carbs!
It's been a hell of journey, and now we finally getting it a little! Learning every time out! Soon, we hope it pays off! First round on Sam! Haha, Bill  oh yeh Big Jim ,without your help down here, who knows, thanks.
Jon, and all others thanks so much.................now! Happy Mothers Day! Bill

The cams have been retimed ( 105 for the intake and 107 for the exhaust)
Installed a pingel fuel valve to keep the flat slides
From starving on top end
So both the 840 and the 1100 are ready to go back
To the dyno next week

Will keep you posted

I hope you measured valve to piston clearances carefully, I had problems with the same setup when trying to go under 108 on the intake side.
