Been a while but I figured I'd touch base since the tapatalk app was free on my phone all of a sudden.
So, I ended up finding #42 slow idle "friction" style jets on dime city cycles website. I decided not to use Sirius because they were in Canada and wanted more info than I was willing to share on checkout.
I think I got the jets in just a couple of business days and they were a perfect fit. I snapped them in, buttoned everything up and set my air mix screws to 1.5.
Bike fired right up and idled better then it ever had, except once it warned up it started falling out on cylinder #4 again.
Now, I'm not gonna go back and read all my posts, but I'm fairly certain I had posted a video of my bike at idle showing the issue and i toyed with a lot of possibilities.
Synchronization was good
Condensers fine
Carbs absolutely "tits"
Points cleaned and adjusted and in good shape
It seemed electrical. I looked for a spare coil. Couldn't find one. I started pulling wires off while running and discovered #4 didn't give a #$%* whether it had a wire on or not. This scared me.
I trimmed the wire down and replaced the boot with a spare and it helped. Until a couple days later, when I was riding at night and saw a tiny lightning storm in cylinder 4s spark plug area.
Well now, some of you geezers are laughing, and honestly I wanted to rip all my hair out.
For those of you with still no idea, I'll break it down.
If you are constantly dealing with an idle or acceleration issue, replace those boots. eBay-ngk-spark plug boots/resistor. I could have put a bullet in my head for being so stubborn.
I can say, my bike now runs better than ever, pulls like nobody's business, and idles beautifully.
So let my years of work do you a favor
77 cb750
4-1 kerker
Pd carbs
UNI pod filters
125 main
42 slow
Middle clip position
1.5 turns on air mix.
I could probably run a 120 main but she's running so good I'm enjoying my season.
Thanks to anyone that helped or even read.
Plans for the future include addressing the paint scheme, a bobbed front fender, an 18" rear wheel and a new set of shoes.
