CB750K0 came to life today!!!!!!!!! (video)
« on: April 07, 2013, 09:06:27 PM »
weather finally cooperated enough today to pull the bike out of the shed and try to start it. I'm not positive when last run, but last plated in '76. A real unmolested survivor. I haven't restored anything much on this bike. Carbs and front brake calliper is about it. My wife took the video, her finger makes several appearances.

It's a bit long, hope you enjoy! John.

Thanks guys. After I got it going I realized the clutch plates must be stuck. Always something!

You mentioned about all you did was carbs and caliper. I would imagine you also did new plugs. If she continues to start hard might want to try new points, condensors, timing and check the valve clearances for starts. Did you give the carbs a sync. These KO carbs are buggers, but once you get it dialed in they perform nice. Bike looks and sounds great.

Yes, new plugs. The carbs were a disaster, completely gummed up. I just checked to see if there was spark, and yes, had good spark on all 4. Never checked the timing yet. No carb sync yet. This was just kind of an initial "will it run?" kind of try. So yeah, I'll do some more work on it, it's not running great yet.
Yeah, the pit crew! I wasn't sure my wife would hang in there that long. Some days she puts up with me and my bikes. ;)

Great looking bike!
What's the story? Did you just buy it? Is it a 69 or 70? I just picked up the exact same looking bike, but mine has been restored, it's not original. Let me know if you decide to sell yours, once you get all the bugs ironed out!

Got it out of a guys collection last fall. Incredibly complete. It was not running and the front caliper was stuck. Build date 12/69. I have it registered as a '69. unstamped exhaust, almost perfect air box, single cut fender. It has 13,000 miles, perfect gauges. I'll likely sell it when I get the bugs ironed out. I kinda have too many bikes (according to my wife) and I have a K0 that I completely restored from the ground up. John.
